While it takes a long time to get onto the titration program, once at that stage, responses are very quick, and guidance is constructive and clear

My experience was from an online meeting after covid. My assessment was only 40 mins long which felt incredibly rushed. I did not feel appropriately assessed online as you can’t see my entire body and when the assessment was finished the doctor commented on the fact I was able to sit still the entre meeting. This was not true and he could not see the rest of my body. I was in fact moving, I just never got up or walked around as that would have been rude to do in a meeting but I digress. My diagnosis at the end was inconclusive and because I struggle with mental health they wanted me to do six months of therapy before coming back to the clinic. I did not feel seen, I didn’t not feel validated, I would not recommend an online assessment.

Hello Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry that you were not happy with the outcome of your assessment. For a diagnosis to be made, a patient's symptoms must meet the diagnostic criteria set out in the DSM-5. I received treatment much faster than I anticipated after my initial wait time. My diagnosis was quick and thorough. Sally (my prescriber) was really helpful and worked with me to find the right medication for me. I'm so glad I finally have a tool to help me deal with my ADHD. I must stress, there isn't a fix all medication that worked for me, more one that covered the most areas with the least side effects. Thank you.

Doctor didn’t listen to a word I said during assessment, this was shown in their wildly inaccurate clinicians letter. Stated I need a follow up appointment before a treatment plan can be arranged…that never happened & I just got a message saying I need to go back to my GP. Entirely unimpressed with this doctor’s care.

I was referred to Psychiatry UK in Oct 2022 by my GP as my diagnosis from another country wasn't 'accepted' here under the NHS. The local wait times were 3+ years. I was seen for my assessment in Feb 2023, the appointment was at a time to suit me so I didn't have to take time off work and it was online. My psychiatrist was thorough in my assessment and I felt the report was comprehensive. I waited until Aug 2023 for my titration. It was done supportively and with care. Any queries I had were dealt with extremely quickly by my prescriber (Lorraine) and she was excellent at respecting my autonomy in the titration as well as working for the best outcome for me. The process felt easy and supportive and I found the portal easy to navigate. I can't recommend them enough and think they set the standard of care that should be expected when you are dealing with mental health. The only thing that could have been better is the time taken between referral and assessment, assessment and titration but I recognise that is due to the significant increase in those needing assessments/titration throughout the country and absolutely not a reflection on Psychiatry UK who are providing an essential service when the NHS wait times are absurd.
