I was very impressed with my consultation with the optician. She was so helpful and knowledgeable which was so reassuring. She worked out the best options for my contact lenses and arranged for sample lenses for me to trial. Very happy my appointment.

The only reason the appointments were slightly less easy to arrange was that the in-store computer was down, but we were telephoned early the next day and then the appointments were arranged easily. ALL the staff were cheerful, helpful and friendly; they made us feel welcome and gave us plenty of time, so we did not feel at all "rushed". In fact, the atmosphere in the waiting area was so friendly that the patients were talking to each other! Overall the visit an excellent experience.

The optometrist and staff on the day of my appointment were very polite and helpful. However, after making my appointment, I had a phone call from boots wanting to cancel it because they didn't think it was necessary. It shows on my records that I'm receiving medical treatment that can effect my eyes, it was a year since my last appointment but I had been told to return earlier due to blurred vision and surely I should be aware of I require being seen, not the person behind the desk. I also wanted to book my son an appointment (he's about to turn 4) to save extra trips. I have no real concerns over his sight apart from some occasional squinting but wanted things checked before he starts school in case something does show up. He knows his colours and numbers etc but I was quite abruptly refused. It seems like you don't want people to make appointments. Also, I have terminal cancer. I've been receiving the relevant benefits to qualify for the nhs help with costs for over 2 years. I've spent hundreds of pounds on 3 pairs of glasses at your store during this time due to prescription changes but in the past I've either but know about it or been told I don't qualify. On this occasion I was told I qualified for it. As I said to begin with, the staff on the day were lovely but it's a shame this isn't the same for all.
