The surgical service was excellent
I visited the hospital on the 21/3.
I was treated so well by all the staff I came into contact with, having been there for a few hours at 2 outpatient appointments, for a pre-op and follow up with my consultant.
The care and above and beyond attitude I experienced was first class and I can’t thank them enough for making me feel so comfortable and totally cared for during my visit.
I’ll be having a minor op soon and I feel like I’ll be in the best hands at Whipps. The only downfall to this hospital is if you don’t know where your going you willl end up getting lost, so the regeneration cannot come soon enough and I’m sure the staff agree! Give them a nice hospital to do the amazing job they do.
All the nurses and doctors were kind. Had one bad agency nurse who upset me.
Plane Tree Ward was very clean, all staff caring kind and professional
I attended Whipps Cross hospital today for a Colonoscopy which I consider to be an uncomfortable and invasive procedure. I have nothing but praise for the Endoscopy and Bronchoscope Department. All members of staff with polite, efficient and, importantly caring. I want to specifically mention the three staff members that carried out the procedure. Kristan Keith Eco, Regina Villarreal and Alexander Hotouras. I have written a specific review for Alex but am unable to find the nurses listed on this platform therefore this review is for them. Both Regina and Kristan fully supported Alex, knew what they were doing and involved themselves with aspects of the procedure in addition to keeping me informed. This I greatly appreciated. Alex engaged both of them as extra “eyes” saying six eyes are better than two”. Top marks to Regina for being first to spot one of the polyps. This team work swiftly in harmony and good spirit. They are a credit to the department.
I have been using Whipps Cross Hospital for 20 years through my consultation and exams. My daughter was born in Whipps Cross Hospital and my family can only thank the staff and the doctors for the amazing work, support and caring we received.
Whipps cross go above and beyond I can’t thank them enough for their time and care
My 16 year old brother had to go to A&E after my mum called the ambulance at 2:30am. We got to the hospital just after 4. First we were brought to children’s a&e which was great… empty, a bit dark, a lot of space. Because he is over 16 he had to be moved to the adults waiting area. This is where the hell began
For hours he waited on a bed positioned directly under a vent by the exit door that paramedics, police, staff and patients walked in and out. Whenever there was a movement nearby the door it would automatically open and he would get colder. He was already unwell, and stayed in the cold area with the dirty sheets, lost and found and spare bandages without being offered a bit of water or a blanket.
There weren’t enough staff. There were so many people in beds and chairs lining the corridor outside of the resus room that we were waiting in the entrance, between 2 sets of automatic doors, in the cold for hours.
We had no idea what was going on, or what was going to happen next. If it wasn’t for my mum following us in the car and bringing his coat he definitely wouldn’t have been able to sleep.
There were multiple people (including police who should know better) smoking just outside of the door where the ambulances park. This meant that when the door opened the cold air was often accompanied by a cloud of smoke.
On top of that, when I scanned the QR code on the rating poster it didn’t work. When I typed in the link it said the code couldn’t be found. From our experience it seems like they don’t actually value the opinion, comfort or safety of their patients.
