Staff responsive overall and Doctor seen very helpful and responsive
Realise difficult to keep cleaning up, but a lot of cigarette ends outside of the entrance
Excellent, timely treatment. I did notice a cotton pad under the treatment table but in all other aspects the area was very clean.
I was.left waiting in A&E for over 3 hours in great pain when I was told when I got to surgical assessment that I should have been sent straight away. Surgical assessment were very good to me when I got there but we still don’t know what is wrong. I have a scan on Friday to try and find out but in the meantime I am at home still in some discomfort.
the doctor who spoke to me in triage over the phone didnt care about how i was feeling
I was mostly very impressed by the quality of the treatment and communication from the staff to all patients.
It is hard not to overhear why people present -it must be embarrassing for some people.
All patients were told there was a 4-7 hour wait to be treated, on arrival.
Most near me had a triage and ECG with a Nurse then a long wait.the triage was excellent.
Visit 1 / I was afraid I had had a TIA. I was disconcerted that the Triage Nurse in the ambulatory care ward said this was not probable and gave me no neurological check - ie look in my eyes. I was treated seriously however and had all the necessary checks.Told I would have been referred to a Cardiologist if I had not already got one.
Visit 2:: Had AF c 140 HR and dizzy. I was treated and tested very quickly and saw a Registrar. I was told I would see a Cardiologist. Waited - reception said I could go and get some food as long as I came back quickly( checked my notes).I was seen by a Nurse and a Doctor who was very thorough.
Concern : a.One unseen lady screamed for over an hour ? In pain or mentally ill. No one reassured the waiting room treatment was being given.
B. An inebriated man spoke very loudly and eventually inappropriately and left after a Security officer stood by reception
Comment: It’s not a service the hospital offers but comprehensive specialist accommodation and treatment treatment should be made available for people mentally disturbed, very agitated and or having addictions.
Main Suggestion for Improvement.
1.Where staff were working away from the waiting room there was too much “ banter” between staff. It was disconcerting.
2. Staff understandably wanted the cubical I was finally discharged from and were told “ this was an in and out”quite clearly which dented my confidence until I was examined very carefully by the Doctor.
3. A very frail lady had been assessed fit to go home in the triage area c 9 am. Obviously vulnerable having missed her carer visit- she was asked if she could manage, I don’t think she was given any food and when I left was sitting in a wheelchair in the waiting room at about 3 pm obviously distressed and worrying . I thought a Social Worker should have seen her and ensured her social needs were met. It would have been kinder if she could have waited for transport in the Volunteer area?
Louise Boulton -Physiotherapist - was professional kind and caring - she was able to fully explain my pain utilising models and diagrams after years of pain and fear. She made sure that i fully understood my exercises fully. She made be feel important and not rushed at any time.

Dr Kiran is an Absolutely an Outstanding Dr,,to True to Fault ,others need to take a leaf out of his especially in this department, where patients are extremely Anxious.
The ward opposite Guy Ward also need to take his example on board , especially, those that are there for control and money and do not want to make a difference,as the Casually express at interview Give up the ost to those that can
It is a great shame i had to wait in the ambulance for some two hours, as did a number of other ambulances which explains why I waited some ten hours for it to arrive.
The treatment I received was almost entirely focused on my passing out waiting for the ambulance and ignored why I originally needed one. I was told that was a matter for my GP whereas my GP had advised me I should wait for sn ambulance. Complete lack of clarity.
Otherwise, the staff were all very kind snd doing their best in difficult circumstances.
Excellent care. Paperwork got misplaced which led to me being ‘missed’
