In regards to my answers they are all in relation to the service that was provided by [name removed] [name removed]. She treated my daughter like a person and didn’t speak at her or like she wasn’t in the room. She was understanding when we couldn’t make some appointments and overall did the best she could in a service that had forgotten about my daughter. She has a calming presence but also knows when we were joking and the way we tried to make light of serious situations.
Thank you for drawing this to our attention. I have sent your review to the service manager for necessary action. Best wishes, Hugh Jones, Patient Experience Manager
I think think they are really good at listening to men
Waited over 6 years. Very little contact ever. Dont return calls. Poor communication, staff with very poor english. Inappropriate, racist and sexist comments. Total lack of understanding of survivors of abuse.
Your service need closing down.
I am really sorry this has happened to you. Please contact our confidential helpline (Pals) on 0800 917 8504 or pals@nhft.nhs.uk. Best wishes, Hugh Jones, Patient Experience Manager
Thinking about my experiences of the service as a reformed service has bewildered me when there is no extensive network of paranoid thoughts and Ideas. It neither provides an improved service for its staff nor its service users. On the contrary, it has taken away the possibility of sound-minded service use with concerns of talking solely to a psychiatrist or psychologist and straining, even more, the on-the-ground staff, like mental health nurses. They already have a heavy workload that decision-makers on the mental health board do not recognise because of the low engagement at the grass level. As a result, they do not fully understand that the system they put in place is no better than the previous one and may be worse.
Black people who receive the labels of mental illness and psychiatric diagnoses have the criteria for entry for NHS mental health service. Still, it seemed irrelevant that white British patients used facilities like running a hostel, and nurses were their wardens. Diagnoses do not appear as inclusion criteria for them, and I wonder if they are sick. And I asked if they were ill at all.
Thank you for your feedback which will be very useful as we review our community mental health services.
