Sister on a&e was rude and disregarded my anxiety. She told me I'm an adult and I need to get over it.

I was treated well as possible but the Ed was so overwhelmed being a Saturday there was standing room only so many patients, drunks and family’s and friends I didn’t like being examed in the corridor and having giving my medical history in front a big group of people the staff Drs nurses and support were run ragged how they coped I’ll never know

Suggested improvements
Not the way the NHS has to cope at the moment I would have preferred to be examined privately also giving my details and medical history maybe screens could be made available

Unfortunately we were not fully informed as to the process when arriving at A&E. We arrived with a letter explaining the severity of my Uncles foot infection & were told we didn’t need to check him into the system. We waited patiently for nearly 6 hours before a nurse came to check blood pressures & I politely asked when would someone be likely to see my Uncle? We were then advised that we needed to check in & then he was seen.

Suggested improvements
There needs to be signs advising patients to check in & nurses need informing that any patients arriving with a doctors letter still need to check in.

Review of Coral Ward
14th March 2024

The midwives were all very pleasant. Saba was incredible although she was not on coral ward. There was a lovely Jamaican lady as well and I apologise but I do not remember her name. She was very pleasant during our experience on coral ward.

Suggested improvements
The discharge process seemed quite inefficient.

Was at the hospital nearly 12 hours. there was no communication with me or information on what they was checking for or doing I had nothing to eat or drink from 9am that morning and was awake for Almost 24 hours I left the hospital at 11 45 pm they wanted to keep me other night but was told there was no beds. I was also left at the xray department didn't know my way back to the a&e department by the time I got there I was told by a nurse they had been calling me for 30 mins and I shouldn't wander off when I didn't.
