Prompt attention at reception and injury dealt with within twenty minutes,
Pleased with the care I received. I do not have any negative feedback. Really helpful staff provided me with breast feeding support
I really can't make any suggestions of how things could be improved. I received a friendly and professional service and I can't thank the midwifes enough
I have had my antenatal care at Sherwood Women's Centre, Newark Hospital.
The care I have received so far has been excellent. All staff have been friendly and approachable.
Would recommend to friends and family.
Thank you.
Polite caring kind clean nothink is to much trouble
The birthing unit is very modern and the rooms felt very relaxed, I would most definitely use the birthing unit again and would recommend the pool room. The rooms have mood lighting, music facilities and comfy beds/bean bags to make the experience as relaxing and comfortable as possible. The staff were also really nice and very supportive.
The ward is very modern and the staff are lovely, they are very friendly and extremely helpful & supportive.
I was admitted as an emergency cardiac case at 11.00pm . The ambulance para medics were very quick to arrive and my transfer was rapid. On arrival at the hospital I was given a warm welcomb and treated with friendlyness and dignity all the way through the A&E department. I was transfered to the cardiac ward, acute assesment bay, where I was kept informed of everything that was happening, the drugs I was given and what they were for. The staff are very friendly whilst still being professional in their work. The food was of exeptional standard ( nothing like the steroetypical hospital food), being tasty, appetising and filling( almost worth being in hospital for). I cannot praise the staff enough for the care I recieved whilst there.
could not get better care, nurses and doctors always there to help, very good and friendly.
Having had a very bad experience at another Nottinghamshire hospital when having my first baby which included an emergency ceasarean, I chose to have my second at King's mill hospital. I was very nervous about going through it all again, but thanks to a very understanding medical team I was able to on plan a VBAC but with a available ceasarean section as intervention rather than induction should things not go the way the should. At 10 days overdue, the day before my planned section my waters broke & I went into hospital. The midwives were very kind & helpful, after assessing me I was taken to the ward for early labour where my husband was able to stay with me, which I found very reassuring. By the following morning labour had slowed significantly and I was advised I could either have section as planned or wait the full 12 hours and be induced, there was no guarantee of a section at that point so I chose to have the caesarean as planned. The medical team were great as was the care from the midwife who allowed me to have the skin to skin shortly after birth i'd wanted, something I missed out on first time. On the ward I was given a side room and the care I received was for the most part great. Due to having a history of infection post caesarean I was able to stay an extra day to ensure I was well and ready to go home.
A few points could be improved on; unlike the hospital i'd been to previously there was no security tagging of the babies which is worrying when you are on your own with other couples and their visitors wandering about. Although I was a second time mum a refresher on baby bathing would have been great. Some more care assistants to provide the help needed for post section mums would be great for when midwives are stretched. Also improvement of the attitude towards women who choose cesarean section would be good, not from everyone but from some midwives I got the impression they disapproved of caeserean which isn't helpful.
The best things about the service; the care is great, the midwives & medical team really appeared to listen to me and informed while allowing me to make the decisions on my care based on all the information. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped, and clean! It makes such a difference when you're compromised to be in a comfortable environment, and it makes those early days so much better.
I'd like to make a special mention of a midwife called Kelly Stammers; I was having a terrible night where my baby would not sleep unless breastfeeding/being help, at my wits end Ms Stammers offered to help sooth my baby, allowing me to get the best most welcome 2 hour sleep i've ever had! Her kindness and care is something I will always remember.
