I was admitted to a resuscitation unit in a and e with a heart condition after 7 hours of being constantly monitored via the nursing station I was moved to minors area. I still had an unstable heart and was left with no call bell and was not monitored. The area was freezing and I had no pillow or adequate blankets. The nurses need to employ a little more empathy towards their patients.
Changing for the better !!! Seriously?
Staff do not interact, patients left waiting without the slightest update on what is happening,
Foreign doctors that cannot converse properly.
I understand that lack of staff is not their fault. But commen decency is within their control.
This used to be a good hospital, but is definitely going backwards.
Management need a good shake up. Great people evolve from great leadership!!
Come on Glam Clwyd, sort it out ....
The hospital is a disgrace and looked like a building site. The staff were ignorant, and there were many people on my ward, including myself, who were not paid any attention when we need assistance. I was told conflicting information about my condition whenever I could actually grab the attention of the nurses from talking about their social lives (and it was clear they had either no clue what they were doing or simply didn't care enough to do their job to even an adequate standard). I was nil by mouth all day under the impression i was having surgery that afternoon, and was not allowed to drink water even. I didn't receive any surgery until the following day, and ended up being extremely dehydrated and resulted with many ulcers in my mouth. The staff were rude and not helpful at all, other people on my ward had been waiting for surgery for days and days. It is an absolute joke, and the hospital needs to seriously consider the way they administer their service. I would not wish this type of service upon anybody.
My experience in A&E and then the surgical assessment unit was excellent. Staff were attentive and responded quickly to control my pain. (This was not the case on the ward.)
Staff were OK, no understanding or help to where wards/clinics are, parking is terrible waiting times are ridiculous and waiting Areas are confusing and small, cafe is good ,clean hospital
Very clean environment, all staff very helpfull
I was treated exceptionally well especially by the nurse the clinic. However it would have helped to have better signs to find out where to go once you are in the Ward 19 area. It is not clear where to go when the corridor splits to ward 19 and 19a.
It was also confusing knowing where to sit when the receptionist says take a seat in the corridor - I think she should take the patient there, after all Asda does it. I am a nurse so am used to hospitals but I didn't know whether I was in the right place as you are sitting in a corridor not a waiting room.
