I went to A&E on advisement from my oncology team as I thought the new cheo may have caused an issue with my heart. Luckily it hadn't as I waited 1.5 hours to been seen for the first time. I was then miss diagnosed with a PE and sent to an Acute ward that 3 hours later I saw another doctor that said I didn't again thank god I didn't and in stead had a chest infection. Following lunch time I was told I could go home and it took 7 hours to get the antibiotics and was told if I wanted the discharge letter I would be the following day. Nurses were great helpful kind and could not do enough for me . doctors were overstretched and disorganised
Excellent treatment in the emergency department last Sunday, efficient and safe practice seen.
We felt all the staff that we interacted with treated us with care and knowledge.
I have had two unexpected operations this year, the first ever ops for me, all the staff at East Surrey Hospital were fantastic. Staff are pleasant, polite, happy and caring from the surgeons to the porters to the catering staff. The hospital is clean, well stocked and warm.
Thank you East Surrey Hospital you are fantastic. My whole family have used you over the past 26 years and you have served us well. You are getting better and better, keep it up.
The A & E department is dreadful. They use incompetent young boys (trainees) to put canulas in and they just can't do it. They cause so much stress and anxiety. Eight attempts is just not acceptable. Get someone in who can do it properly East Surrey Hospital.
I would have liked to know about needing wireless bras before I went into hospital. It was written in a booklet but you are given so many booklets to read during a stressful time that important information needs to given verbally. After an operation trying to get bras in 2 days was a bit rushed over the internet when you are feeling a bit wobbly.
I was treated with exceptional medical care as expected but the level of personal care and understanding is above and beyond what we have come to expect from a stretched health service. Everyone has a smile or a word for you, even walking the corridors, staff members catch your eye and smile or say hello. From the receptionists, nurses doctors and porters, they all seem to have been sent to "nice" school. It is definitely the best hospital I have ever been treated in and unfortunately I am a bit of an expert.
The consultants and staff take great care in making sure that you are well looked after and are very informative with their patients.
My daughter had an appointment with Mr Tselentakis' clinic and were seen by one of his team. Firstly, waited 1hour 10minutes to be seen and Dr did not introduce himself so I can't tell you who they were. Then after examining my daughters knee he said she needs to avoid it. I asked what he meant, and he just repeated to avoid it. After a number of requests he finally clarified that she needs to avoiding TWISTING it. What was that all about??
Next the MRI scan. Dr said she could have this, I asked "well, should she have this?" He agreed it would be good to have this done.
All in all, not impressed with the quality of the consultation. Can't they make a sound clinical judgement as to what is required and also communicate clearly so the patient understands what is expected of them?? Poor, poor, poor. Bet if we'd seen the Dr privately the experience would probably have been far better.
I visited the Orthotics dept yesterday and received excellent treatment.
