Review of Wellbeing @ Cynthia Spencer,
12th June 2021

I was sceptical about the Mindfulness programme before it started but actually found it enjoyable and useful. However, I have really missed the weekly sessions at Wellbeing. The staff, volunteers and other patients always created a positive atmosphere which is so important when most of my time is spent at home. Human contact is necessary to avoid loneliness and becoming inward looking. The online sessions have been a lifeline during the Covid-19 restrictions but are a poor substitute for face to face interactions. That is not to say they were not beneficial The staff did create a meaningful experience and it was goof to see people I had physically met previously as well as new people. I do hope that we can soon meet face to face again (I particularly enjoy thr freedom of being able to go round the grounds in my wheelchair) but in the meantime I hope I can join more online sessions.

Review of Lymphoedema Palliative Care Team,
12th June 2021

A well run, kind and considerate service. Very knowledgeable and skilful. Time given in an unhurried way. An understanding shown of the effect of managing lymphoedema in real life.

A session or two giving lymph drainage please. Watching a video made by a different authority at home and then listening to advice, instructions during an appointment is confusing.

The well-being staff were amazing. I cannot find fault with them in any way. I looked forward to the weekly virtual sessions which were delivered in a professional manner. As well as helping me mentally, we had lots of fun.

Review of Wellbeing @ Cynthia Spencer,

I thoroughly enjoyed the mindfulness sessions and cannot recommend them highly enough. I have progressed amazingly. I don’t hardly ever have panic attacks anymore. Natalie and Aleisha support is totally on the group they are very knowledgeable and always lead the group really well . Everyone has a chance to voice their feelings or issues safely one to one or in the group . We all love the relaxation meditation st the end also Debbie is amazing at doing these. Natalie makes it so much fun for us and helps us all immensely.

Wendy did not communicated at all near the end of her life sadly as she was in to much pain with her llnes, so stop be honest I cannot answer that for her. But in my view it was very good the care she received.

Diane the HCA who came to sit with my mum on 30/3/21 was amazing. She was very kind to my mum and was very knowledgeable. She alerted me to the fact my mum was close to the end. She explained the dying process and enabled me to prepare myself and call the vicar for the last rites which would have been very important to my mum.

Review of Hospice @ Home,

I can not thank Cynthia Spencer Hospice at Home enough for the wonderful care and support that they provided for my Husband Gary and our immediate family. They were all wonderful, kind and caring professionals who really went out of their way to provide help and assistance to us in our time of need, we could not have managed without them. The night sitting service was especially helpful to me Sandra Gary's wife as I had not managed to have much sleep prior to Cynthia Spencer Hospice at Home stepping in to help and had only managed to get about two hours rest each day at this very stressful and worrying time. Sadly my Husband Gary has now passed away and is at peace, but I wanted to let you know that he wanted to Thank you all for the amazing help he was given it really meant the world to him.

You really could not have done anything any better. You all deserve a pat on the back for the wonderful work that you do.

The staff concerned were most friendly, caring and patient my husband, though very poorly treated them.

On the whole everything was very pleasing and we liked the calm, caring attitude of the majority of the staff.
