Tried all week to contact regarding awful back pain! Engaged or no reply, got through eventually, hanging on for 25 minutes, “our receptionist will be with you soon”! Remind me why GPS have had a pay rise?!

Getting through in the morning to book an appointment is bit of a trial. I have always been treated politely by the receptionists. Super surgery.

nightmare getting an appointment, dr never returns calls for telephone appt ( they kickup if you miss an appointment tho ) receptionists not very helpful, and i expect to be at least acknowledged when i walk in and not to have to wait 5 minutes while they finishh having a chat about what they are doing that weekend. communication between centre and patient is non existent , only reason i use it is i am disabled and its the nearest.

I don't see the point of telephone appointments at the surgery as the doctors don't call back. It's a shame as the appointment system is poor in general it's very difficult to get an appointment anyway. Would be useful if the telephone appointments were used better maybe relive the pressures? I was also surprised to be told about the cost of my medication! I felt like a burden I understand financial pressures in the nhs but I feel the treatment is also becoming about cost saving and reluctance to give costly medication. This is beyond a patients control I'm afraid.

I do not generally need a doctor often, but when I Do, I find it fairly easy to follow the clinics policy of calling at 2 different times of day to see what is available. Although I have not yet signed up for it, I like the newest idea of seeing the schedules online and being able to book my appointment online. I find the phone call appointments useful, since it means I am not sitting in the clinic waiting for long periods when either contagious or simply waiting for a doctors note and think this is a very efficient change to allow more people access to Dr advice. The ladies in the reception are extremely busy whenever I go and they do their best to accommodate as many people as possible in the day. It is becoming more and more busy in the clinic so it has reflected on the length of time needed to wait before getting even a phone call style appointment. Though the clinic has hired even more doctors than when I first started going 16 years ago, it is clear that the practice has expended and they may need another to help cope with the bigger demand for appointments.
