So the care at this practice is a fairly high standard - and of course that is the most important thing. However, at 2 pm today I called the desk to book an appointment that wasn't the ONLY session their automated service would allow. I was on hold for two hours before I decided to go to the surgery directly and show them the little light on their desk that was me STILL ON HOLD. They then offered me an appointment within the hour. My problem is not the staff it's the terrible system in place. They need a lot more staff not just one more - a lot more. Furthermore they need to not be afraid to pick up the phone in fear of a patient coming through the door as it could be someone less a able than I who can't get to the surgery to talk in person.

We have been with this practice since its North Harrow days. At that time there was no problem in getting a same day appointment. Unfortunately, due to the size of the area the practice now serves, appointments are very difficult to come by. I had to wait a full week to see a nurse for my (totally blocked) ear to be syringed, although I only made the appointment request after using ear drops for a number of days. Also, on one occasion, my husband's prescription request took 3 weeks to reach our chemist, despite him chasing it up on several occasions. I think the doctors and nurses do a very good job but would question if they are being asked to serve too large a community.

Admin staff seem better. However still hideous waiting times as per normal.

The surgery really need to review their appointment system. I never get an appointment when I really need to see the doctor. We are a working parents who travels to city for work all five days and have two little kids. To get the same day appointment, we have to ring first thing in the morning. The surgery telephone lines open at 8.15 and I start my work at 8am. When I phone them sometime I have been told there is appointment at 10 or 10.30, either I take it or walk in as an emergency and wait there which may take upto 2 hours. I don't understand the whole logic over here, my work is not going to give me time off every time (could be for myself or my kids) I have to rush to the GP appointment at that odd hours and also I just travel one hour to come to work and then I have to travel one hour back to go to the surgery. On top of this we have a responsibility of our mother who is always going to either surgery or hospital appointments with her medical condition. I have also noticed that the receptionists are really rude and do not want to listen or understand the situation at all, partly it could be they have become too robotic following the policy and procedure designed by some unthoughtful person who may not have responsibility of caring any body else in the family. I would really appreciate if they have a system where they can atleast offer the next day appointments so that we can plan ahead with work, give them enough notice.

First of all, the friendly nature of all the staff members and doctors. 2. easy to get appointment, and well looked after always. 3. very pleasant atmosphere in the reception area and all over the surgeries. 4. I have my blood tests, ecg, xrays and many other facilities. i don't have to run around. 5 Surgery which arranges lectures in the evenings on wide varieties of health issues.
