I attended the surgery for a cervical smear test. This had been rescheduled from the previous day due to staff illness. Linda Leech saw me and put me totally at ease for this awkward but necessary procedure. I have been registered with Swineshead Medical Group for since a very young age and would not want to move to another surgery for either my care or that of my 2 children. My Mother first brought me to the surgery for a 2nd opinion on a hip problem in 1979, it was Dr Smith that diagnosed this and many operations followed. The systems that SMG use of triage and availability of appointments is very good and I have never had a problem obtaining the assistance I required.

no problems with appointments and online services. The staff are friendly and helpful aqnd the surgery is relatively modern and clean with good car parking facilites for access

Swineshead is an excellent surgery slightly let down by the Trust in comparison with other Trusts, especially re Diabetic care, which is very good as far as it goes. Having experienced other trusts which give a more dedicated and thorough service provision, perhaps the Trust should be blamed rather than the surgery. There are other occasions when a blood test is requested by the Doctor with no apparent follow up so I have to assume that everything was okay. Not having a dedicated doctor also gives a problem with follow up appointments, especially if it is a trainee doctor who is not available for a follow up. The term come back and see me seems to cover the surgery and not the individual doctor. Having experienced this phenomen I have ended up with seeing 3 different doctors and receiving 3 different diagnosies for what was a non life threatening problem. That having been said the staff are excellent, the nurses especially so and the surgery experience is relaxed and comfortable, and if you know what the problem is the doctors are very quick to respond to onward treatment and care.
