In this day and age with modern technology it is still impossible to get an appointment. I have a non urgent condition but every time I get through all appointments are taken and I need to start the process again of calling from 8:30am the next day to try and get a non urgent appointment. This involves making a few hundred calls and results in daily time off work. Why do they not offer future day appointments surely the booking system can manage it, if not I can design one for them - thats my job. To cap it all go on the website and they are hi-lighting the fact they get thousands of calls every minute in the morning doh I wonder why. This is a very inefficient use of resources and could be managed much better

My parents have been with this practice for over 40 years and until recently this had been an extremely positive experience for them. However over the last few months something has gone seriously wrong with this practice. My parents are in their 80s, my mum has AF and my dad has advanced Alzheimer’s, but until very recently, they have enjoyed good health. In the last few months it has been virtually impossible to get to speak to a receptionist to make an appointment and there has been a distinct lack of empathy and care when dealing with such elderly and vulnerable patients. My mum went for a blood test this week and was told by the GP that she would no longer be able to attend this surgery as patients from Fenwick had to find another surgery to make room for patients from Stewarton. This was followed up with a rather abrupt letter stating the same. To do this to frail and elderly people, who are struggling on a daily basis to cope with the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s, two weeks before Christmas and when the Covid vaccine is just about to be rolled out, is nothing short of cruel. They are now extremely distressed and worrying about prescriptions etc. No information was included in the letter which delivered the brutal blow. I am utterly shocked by the way they have been treated. If Stewarton Medical PractIce is unable to cope with increased patient numbers, then surely there would have been a more fair and compassionate way of dealing with the problem.

I find an awful lot of negative reviews regarding:- doctors, appointments, receptionists and nurses. People often complain about not being able to get an appointment, but often they want an appointment with a certain doctor at a certain time and refuse all other appointments, hence the reason they have to wait longer. If you have to see a doctor and take more than ten minutes, do you ever consider the patients in the waiting room? Do you ever think about the abuse that the reception staff take, both over the phone and in front of the public? I have always found them very pleasant, it works both ways. As for the nurses and other ancillary staff, I always have been treated with care and friendliness. Thanks to all of them

Only two good doctors, nurses are also good. One reception girl is nice, the rest are extremely rude and unhelpful - employed for appointment prevention, not their charm ! The practice needs a good shake. I know of many patients who would register elsewhere, if there was another practice in the town.

I don't normally write reviews but felt I had to following a recent experience with a member of staff on the phone. I couldn't get through to the repeat prescription line so I called the appointment number, the receptionist couldn't have been more helpful if I'd been paying for her time. Apologised for the problem with the other line and offered to do the prescription request for me instead. Also offered to solve the issue I'd been having with the Patient Access online service and instead of me having to go back down to the surgery to re_-register, she did it all for me and offered to attach it to my prescription that she'd be sending to boots for collection. Sometimes reviews seem to to only be submitted when it's negative feedback but if it's a positive experience it tends to go unoticed. I always get an appointment with the do Doctor I prefer(Dr.GWilkie ,) who I cannot speak highly enough of. If I can't see her then her husband would be my next choice. I know all the Doctors are great but if you click with 1 then in my experience it's better to wait till they can see u than to see a different 1 and then start from scratch. I wouldn't be here or I'd be in a really sorry state if it wasn't for Stewarton Health Centre and appreciate all their help and support. Thank you.
