The new central drug ordering process failed me and I had to go into the surgery to see what could be done. The receptionist couldn’t have been more helpful and arranged for me to pick up a prescription that same afternoon.
Thank you.
The person or persons who answer the phones should be trained to be polite and talking to people in a sensitive manner
You should not be made to feel as if you have done something wrong by phoning to make an appointment or to order a prescription
This is not just a personal thought but of several people who have visited the practice
It's a lottery these days which doctor will see you and so far I've seen 5 different doctors this year. In my case there appears to be a distinct lack of empathy from most of those GP's I've seen. I know surgeries are busy these days which is why appointments are only 10minutes and these do sometimes need to run overtime but when you're on time for an appointment but kept waiting for 25 minutes some acknowledgement or apology from the doctors would be appreciated. I've been a patient at a number of different surgeries in the last 10 years and if this was a school it would be put into special measures category. On a positive note the nursing staff are exemplary. If there was a choice of doctors surgeries in the Stewarton area I would register elsewhere but alas it's Hobson's choice in Stewarton.
I ran late for an appointment one day. I called ahead and made them aware and was told I would not be seen if I was more than ten minutes late.
I understood this and ultimately did not make the appointment for which I apologised.
I have now been waiting for 27 minutes to be seen for my new appointment for which I was on time (early in fact but I'm not counting those minutes) I have had no explanation and no apology and am STILL waiting to be seen.
Not happy!
