I had an appointment with diabetic nurse today. The entire process was smooth and nurse was very considerate, helpful and thorough in what she did.,
Unfortunately I did not get the name of the nurse but my appointment was at 08.30 and my name is Mr Jayendra Patel. Receptioninst staff was veRy polite and helpful. Well done NHS.

Hi... I have called this surgery 14 times from my mobile withjn the last hour today and never get an answer. I have faxed them. No answer. I have tried three times from my office phone - no answer.
The reception area is plastered with notices of what the reception staff will not do for patients. The level of help you get is minimal, the patients are made to feel like an intrusion.
The surgery says it is open from 8am - 8pm. It is not. The reception staff put recorded announcements on the phone restricting times when patients can call, thus increasing the congestion of calls. The entire surgery was closed yesterday afternoon 'for training'. Training on what? And how about holding the training outside surgery hours so that patients are not made to suffer?
The reception and appointments service offered by Southborough Lane surgery is lamentable.
Are the doctors even aware of how bad the situation has become?
I presume there is a practice manager? Perhaps he/she could get in touch and explain why the service is so bad. I would call myself but my call would not be answered.
Oh, and incidentally, I need some telephone advice from the duty doctor. That's all. So perhaps someone could get in touch? 07774 973023.

I'm sorry to hear you have struggled to get through to make an appointment. I believe you have already liaised with Katie, the Practice Manager, regarding the issues raised. However if there is anything more we can do to assist, please contact us again. As explained, the practice does all it can to hold training outside of our opening hours wherever possible.

Quite happy with the surgery.
Not happy, however, with the upcoming move to the Crown area. What was a seven minute walk will now be two bus stops away.
I changed to it recently for ease of access, and talking to friends I find It is helpfull to many parents in the area, being close to the school, but in future it won't be such a local surgery.

Thank you for your comments. I understand your concerns regarding our move to a new building. Sadly the practice has little choice but to move as its current premises is no longer fit for purpose. This is the closest location we could find at just 1 mile away. Whilst we realise that this will make it slightly harder for some of our patients to get to we hope that having a purpose built surgery fit for the future will make it worthwhile.

Found doctors to be uneducated on silent reflux, the condition my baby suffers from; inconsistent care, one gp forgot to give me a prescription so had to go bk and he forgot to refer ny daughter to a dietician like he promised. Will be moving docs
