Could never get an appointment girl on reception rude not helpful left joined another practise nearer my home get an appointment same day or next have have been with rye hill for 30 years should have left years ago

My advise would be to register at another surgery. One of the receptionists is cold rude and patronising, unfortunately I always seem to have to deal with her when there is a problem. Last thing you need when ill, makes you beg for a repeat prescription you ordered days before and is not there when you go to get it. Really considering leaving here after being a patient for over 40 years.

Very easy to book an appointment, I never have to wait for emergency care. The receptionists tend to be a bit cold both over the phone and in person but they are not unhelpful. Dr McCowan is an amazing doctor who takes the time to do a physical check and go over symptoms, diagnosis and treatment with you, so that you feel involved and make informed decisions with regards to your medical care. She is also not reluctant to do a referral if she feels that an expert opinion is due. One of the best doctors out there. I do not think that the (majority of?) other doctors there really listen to the patient and are equally hands on, so I think there could be improvement in that aspect.
