I have been with the Murray surgery for many years. But recently on several occasions I have found the reception staff rude, discussing issues in view of others of a delicate nature..brushing you off regardless of how busy or not busy the surgery is. Extremely dismissive over the phone. Losing prescription handed in at appropriate times and instead of helping while you are there making you return a day later. Making patients feel extreme low. I have been both on the receiving end of this and witness to this on multiple occasions. The surgery has a bad name all round now and is rarely discussed in good terms anymore.

Have been wit The Murray Surgery for many years & have always received great care. Of recent years surgery it has been more difficult to get appointments mainly because of technology. Everyone piling in a 8 in the morning just did not work. In recent months the appointment system has greatly improved if you are able to wait a day or two.

This surgery is terrible, they just want you in and out, they don't care and i've lost complete trust in them. I do not visit the doctor regularly but recently when i needed help i got fobbed off and ended up getting sent to the out of hours doctor. I had told the doctor my symptoms and he told me he didn't have time to discuss certain concerns. The second one I saw was very unsympathetic and quite rude. Very poor indeed and intend on moving surgery but id avoid this one if you plan to join.

Having been a patient here for many yearsI am dissapointed that the surgery had been going downhill in recent years. The doctors are excellent when you can get to see them.I am afraid the same cannot be said about the staff. On one occassion when I enquired about a lung function test ( I was diagnosed with COPD about 10 years ago ) , I was asked why, when I explained I was told " oh you must have slipped off the radar". And I was given a full function test. 6 months later I was asked back for my "annual function test" no test , just questions, blood pressure taken and inhaler changed.I have never had an annual review of my medications in over 10 years. And recently the staff seem uncaring and even more incompetent if that were possible. Think possibly a change of practice manager would help.

I can't fault the staff here they do an excellent job given the demand on their service. Getting appointments is difficult but there's nothing they can do about the level of demand for their appointments! People will have to carefully think about how urgent the issue really is or, can it wait? I don't see how else to resolve the issue of unlimited demand on a limited resource. Same story everywhere thanks to the government.
