COPD sufferer, Back in February I had to book a Flu & Pneumonia Jab urgently. When I went to book them I was told i had missed the Flu Clinic by just 1 week and that I could not have the Flu jab till September 2020 I was not informed by this Surgery about the clinic 7th February so missed out. Now April have had for last month very bad ongoing cough chest hurts to breath and called Surgery. Had 2 x lots of different Antibiotics given + Steroids and 0 of the Medication has worked still have symptoms & if anything it's getting worse with me feeling very fatiqued and get out of breath more often. Am Social Distancing as advised 3 wks ago by Dr and avoiding going to Supermarkets or shops. Needing advice to be honest & am away from work for 12 weeks as I'm in the vulnerable catorgory and employer has asked me not to go in as I'm a Support Worker for People with Learning disabilities. Now not getting any further treatment so quite worried whether I may have started to have this awful virus or basicly as told I may have Mild Pneumonia due to Severe Chest Infection not getting better so I'm hoping my Surgery read this review & act on it as they do not have an online consultation tòol in place which they should have!!!

Impossible to make a routine appointment - not just a long time in advance but no routine appointments available at all.

This practice has been on the decline for many years and has now hit rock bottom in respect of trying to get an appointment. The biggest drop in trying to get one was taking over the two surgeries at Durrington when waiting went from 1 week to 3. Apparantly a new manager promised improvements in July 19. Contact by phone is impossible as there is only 1 contact number for 22,000 thousand patients. So if you get an answer within 30 minutes its a miracle. Online booking rarely exists, as nothing comes up on the any date shown. I called in at the surgery to book one and was told to go home and book online as extra appointments were going to be added in 10 minutes time. I logged on only to to find that dates were added but appointments were not. No wonder my blood pressure is increasing with kind of treatment.

This isn't about lack of money or resources...just a lack of courtesy and respect and poor management for patients. I rang soon after 9 this morning and was 6th in the queue.I asked if a message could be passed on to a doctor about a problem I had seen a doctor about 7 days ago that hadn't cleared up. I said I just wanted to know what cream to use.Reception volunteered that a doctor would call me.I asked for a rough time scale..she said a couple of hours. Having sat by the phone till 11.30 I rang to confirm that I was still on the list for a call. She said yes I was,it shouldn't be long. So I haven't been to work or used my landline or done anything out of earshot of my landline as I didn't want to miss the call.I left it till 2.30pm and rang again. There is a recorded message saying that the surgery is shut until 4pm for staff training and that they hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone! WHY didn't the receptionist tell me that soon after 9am? Why didn't the receptionist tell me that when I rang at 11.30? Why not tell patients " if you haven't had a call by 1pm when we close for lunch, then it won't be till after 4pm as we are closing for staff training"? This was EXACTLY the case for my daughter a month ago...waited all day to get a call in the evening due to staff training..but no one told her. There are always signs up about GP appointments being wasted...nothing about patients time.

I have been with this surgery for 30 years. It has always been excellent..the various doctors have come and go but the level of service was first class. But over the last few years, patient numbers have increased till there are I believe about 23000 now. For the last couple of years it has been become increasingly hard to get an appointment.Even if you are prepared to see any doctor at any time of day, the current wait is in excess of 4 weeks. It is ALWAYS more than 4 weeks. They keep fiddling with the appointment system, but nothing changes.Today is 7th January.I've been looking online for ANY doctor appointment but there is nothing available for the next SIX AND A HALF WEEKS,which is as far at the diary goes.Nobody wants to wait that long, even for something non urgent.I take patients to other surgeries in the area.No other surgery that I know of has such long waiting times.I don't know what the solution is but every time the surgery takes on other practices that are closing, the service offered to existing patients just gets worse.
