I genuinely don't know where to start! My mum has been a patient here for over 40 years, she has been extremely ill over the past few weeks with what we think is a chest infection. She called to make an appointment a few weeks ago and was told no. Yesterday after spending the whole weekend coughing she called at 8am to be told the doctor was off sick (would be a good idea to get a locum in even just for the afternoon - I have worked in healthcare and know this is possible) Upon being told this morning yet again no appointments. She went to work and was sent home. I called to get an emergency and after speaking to the most unhelpful person known to man deduced to call back at 1.30. My mum called at 1.28 to be told by this lovely lady it wasn't half past and to call back. She called back at 1.31 and was no 28 in the queue. When she finally got through at 3.57 to be told the phones were playing up and there was no appointments. So I know have to pay for a 2half hour phone call which ammounted to absolutely nothing. This practice is absolutely awful and I would definitely not recommend to anyone!!!!!! Why advertise for more patients when you can't keep the ones you have happy. Maybe if they take a look on facebook or relevent websites they would see what their patient base thinks!!!!

When dealing with the nurses at the surgery they have been nothing but helpful. Most of the receptionist do what they can also. Trying to book an appointment the earliest was 3 weeks! The receptionist who was very helpful said I could try in the morning for an appointment so I did. Only for the GP to be rude and unhelpful. Telling me my issues were not an emergency. They might not have been to her, but they are to me especially for the 5 minute appt that I got! If people have real emergencies they should be going to hospital. Waiting 3 weeks to see a GP for a mole issues and contraception is not at all acceptable!

I have no voice at the moment. I have been to Glenlyn Medical Centre for help. I want to book an appointment for tomorrow with a doctor as my throat is getting worse and I have been given nothing for it as it is viral. I cannot speak so wanted to book via email as I do with my dentist. This is not possible apparently. Seems very odd in this day and age. The booking system does not work. 5 mins with a doctor is not enough. The centre is understaffed. On the booking online system the first available appt was March 31st. I do not like seeing a different doctor every time. I used to see Dr Coxon for about 25 or 30 years and that was a much better system. He seemed to really care about his patients. I think that the doctors at Glenlyn are not given the support and time they need to do their job properly or as they would like to do it. How can you look at a person's records, get to know and understand their needs, diagnose them and write a prescription in 5 minutes? And do this 12 times an hour for goodness knows how many hours? It is not fair on the doctor or the patient. It would be better to be open 8 am to 8 or 9 pm with no closure at lunch. Employ more staff and let everyone have proper breaks. The nurses are very good. Is this because they are allowed more time with their patients? No wonder so many doctors want to leave the profession.

Please avoid this centre if you are seeking for help. This is the worst experience with medical (reception) staff approach ever and you can hardly rely on this institution to provide you with any health care. I am registered at GMC (Glenlynn Medical Centre) and after undergoing spine surgery I was following the procedure to came in with the letter from neurosurgeon to inform GP what kind of operation I had and also to make appointment for removing stitches after the surgery. Such shocking reaction I was rewarded with. Two receptionists were sitting behind the desk, none of them welcomed me when entering the building nor showing a bit interest I was standing at the desk. The worst came when I asked them for help. Without checking computer first answer was 'I do not know if something is available', which followed 'I have nothing available for Friday' Did not even want to see the letter from Hospital, not asking me a single question if I am able to move or whatsoever she said I have to go to walking clinic. So I asked to speak to the manager to explain my problem so maybe she might be willing to help or give me some warm advice if receptionists were not willing to. Ms. Jan Flynn (admin staff manager) showed me her non-interest as well and sent me to a walking clinic right away. I really stayed speechless whether something like that is possible to happen in healthcare and someone with such approach can work in customer service in health care at all. I am extremely disappointed and sorry for doctors at this centre, because first step into GMC gives you the worst impression ever. I fully understand Friday availability might be limited, but such ignorance was more than shocking. I am expecting someone to give me a feedback and really hope to not need Glenlynn Medical Centre for something more serious than removing few stitches after operation. They might have told me if they did not feel to be qualified for that. Thank you for looking to this and coming back to me shortly.

Appointments/referrals to Kingston Hospital need to be speeded up. When you have a disabled person who is suffering and in pain for the past 3 weeks and you get told you need to wait for an ultrasound - this could take up to another 6-7 weeks then that is not acceptable! They should be seen as a priority - they don't understand why they have to wait for so long! If there is something seriously wrong with that person then the sooner they get seen the better, you don't know if time is an issue, ie, you don't know if the problem would have needed a different type of treatment instead of just pain killers!
