Dr siddle is the most patient and helpful doctor listens to you and goes out of her way to see you. She takes the fear out of going to the doctors that most people have and never makes you feel as if you are wasting her time.

In telephone queue for 20 minutes to be told no appointments and doctor would call to discuss 8 hours later no call phoned doctors again, 25 minutes queue, told receptionist had wrote my contact no down wrong so doctor couldn't get hold of me, what happened to looking at my records for correct no? Receptionist was rude and had attitude problem would greatly benefit from some customers care training

St. paul's is only one part of this wider healthcare practice so where are the others on this forum? The merger may have been of benefit to the various practices but has not been of benefit to patients. My experience is mainly with North Carlisle (Eden Street). There is a distinct lack of management, perhaps none at all, creating a lack of synchronicity and cohesion between surgeries. Receptionists appear ill-informed or lack training; if neither of these then, and am reluctant to say the word, but unhelpful. I am delighted to say that the on-line prescription service seems to work - if you are able to order on-line, that is. Doing it manually via the surgery is simply a nightmare. I haven't attempted to get through on the phone for a while and would rather pay a visit personally to make an appointment otherwise the telephone frustration just increases stress levels. The doctors I have had the privilege to consult are excellent but it is the admin/management that so badly lets down this healthcare group.

I have attended the surgery for many years for regular blood tests - this being easy to access at the Arnside House surgery. I have built up a good rapport with the clinical staff that i see but since the mergery this has gone and i am now seeing different people who i dont know. My last appointment left me feeling that the practice was disinterested in me as a patient or my ongoing condition. As for getting through on the telephone this is nigh on impossible. I made over 20 attempts one day to return a call from the practice and in the end gave up - its a good job it wasnt an emergency! I also see that Arnside now is only holding GP type appointments on a Monday and Tuesday. I live at that side of town, I work at that side of town and as a disabled person there is a car park. This has gone from what felt like a caring accessible practice to something very different - im not sure the merger has considered the patients who should be at the heart of this service.

It can take days to get through to any of the surgeries by phone. When you do get through, while most reception staff are civil, some who are incredibly rude and aggressive; not at all who you want to deal with when you're ill or worried about results etc. The surgery really needs to provide better training: it's discourteous and extremely unprofessional. The different surgeries also need to communicate more with each other and with patients - you're sent to different locations, only to get there and find out the staff member is on holiday for two weeks! Some individual medical staff go out of their way to be helpful, professional and positive - but reception staff and others make me dread getting in touch - I'm trying to find somewhere else (not easy when so many surgeries have merged).
