I have just moved into the catchment area of Bersted Green Surgery and I needed to see a GP urgently. Having registered, I telephoned in for a same day appointment and after a very short wait I saw Dr Schaeper. He had to asses me as my notes had not yet been transferred from my last GP. In the circumstances I was given extra time and care (NB the surgery was busy at the time) Dr Shaeper reviewed my medication, set up a repeat prescription and even telephoned the local pharmacy to check they had my medication in stock. He also arranged a prompt referral to a community service for me. In addition, I was offered prompt appointments to see the nurse for general screening. All this was in the run up to Christmas! As a new patient (and someone new to the area) all the staff were very helpful. I am happy to give this practice full marks. Well done.

I had a very early morning appointment and turned up 5 minutes early and waited with two others who also had early appointments. The surgery opened on time and we went in to a very cosy and warm reception area. The receptionist was very cheery and helpful. My doctor came to the waiting room and called me in. Nice not to have your name called out very loudly over the intercom.I realise this is not always possible with a waiting room full of patients who are in a hurry to be seen. The doctor explained everything to me concerning my health and did so in a very friendly way using words that I would understand. He took the trouble to talk over anything that might have troubled me. All in all I was very happy with my visit and found the place spotlessly clean, as it always is. I have been with this practice for 17 years and have always been satisfied with my treatment. OK, sometimes you do have to wait to be seen but when you think of the number of people that use the surgery, I think it is a wonder that it works as well as it does. Thank you to all the staff and hope you all have a happy and rewarding new year.

If you want to see a specific doctor, then you do have to wait some time for an appointment. However, if you are happy for a doctor to contact you by phone, you can get a call back on the same day. Today I was offered the opportunity to come to the surgery at around 10am and wait for one of the doctors to see me. When I checked in at reception I was informed that there were two people already waiting. Within 10 minutes I was called in to see Dr. Meeks and a few minutes later I was leaving the surgery reassured and very glad that my concerns had been dealt with in a very professional manner.

i am writing as the last 3 appointments ive had to wait upto an hour and last week an hour and ten mins and the outcome my daughter had to be taken to hosp with suspected appendacitas,i am quite disgusted at how long we have to wait
