I saw Ms Vella at St Edmunds Hospital and I was instantly put at ease by her kind nature and professionalism. She is not only highly knowledgeable about her area of expertise, but she is also passionate about what she does. I had complete confidence in her from first consultation through to decision making about my treatment plan. Ms Vella never rushed me through my appointments, and I cannot thank her enough for her support with my ongoing condition over the last few years . I have come back for subsequent appointments and cannot fault the service she provides. Ms Vella is an asset to the medical profession and an exemplary gynaecologist.

Profile
Qualified as a medical doctor in 1999 from the University of Malta. Her post graduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology was carried out in and around London, where during this time, she became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
A two-year research fellowship in urogynaecology with Professor Linda Cardozo was completed at Kings College Hospital, London, followed by a three-year subspecialty program in urogynaecology also at King's College Hospital.
With a passion for research, she has been involved in the publication of many papers, which are widely cited within her field. She is often invited to peer review and has presented at national and international meetings. She has also written a number of book chapters.
She received recognition for best free paper in 2006 by the International Urogynaecological Association, and again in 2012 by the European Urogynaecology Association.
Ms Vella is a Consultant at West Suffolk Hospital and St Edmunds Hospital as well as a college tutor in charge of trainees in obstetrics and gynaecology. She has a special interest in urogynaecology and is an experienced surgeon having performed many procedures with low complication rates.
