Simon did an operation on my left knee many years ago and did a fine job. This time I was referred to him for a look at my right knee. He explained my options but we agreed on an acid injection for now to ease my pain. Simon is a very pleasant consultant to deal with and doesn’t rush you out like many doo. He has plenty of time to make sure you understand what’s going on. I’ll definitely be back in the future if I need further work done.

Having benefitted previously from Mr Ellis’ excellent care, I was referred back to him by my physiotherapist, for advice regarding a further injury to my knee. Following an MRI and discussion regarding the way forward, I have been treated with a further hyaluronic acid/steroid injection having had an excellent response to a previous injection. Thank you Mr Ellis for your explanation regarding my injury and for your kindness and first class care of my knee. I will continue to maximise my recovery and manage my osteoarthritis under the care of my brilliant and trusted physiotherapist. Thank you again, most sincerely for my wonderful care Lorraine Coates

I found Mr Ellis' friendly but professional approach very refreshing and totally trusted his expertise. He seems to go beyond (even with his NHS patients) with his telephone calls and pre-op preparation. My whole experience with the Spire Alexandra was very positive and although I am only 1 week post surgery I have no doubt Mr Ellis will look after me til I am recovered. If I need my other knee done I know where I will go.

I am a retired operating theatre nurse and have worked with many surgeons around the world. Simon Ellis is an extremely friendly and approachable gentleman and a surgeon who puts his patients at ease. From the day he first saw me his honest and simple explanation made my journey through his care stress free and despite having surgery a very pleasurable experience. I had a relatively minor operation on my knee and found his attention to detail incredible. Clinic appointments were always thorough and the phone call from him the day before my operation was a very caring touch. Despite fully understanding the procedure I was about to undergo, his visit just before the operation put me completely at ease. I felt that I could not be with a better surgeon for my care and treatment. I am only 9 days post surgery and feel I have made an excellent and uneventful recovery so far. The care and attention afforded to me at the Spire Alexandra hospital by his support team was excellent and cannot go without mention. Should the need arise I would not give a second thought to being treated by Simon Ellis again.
