Mr Rhys Thomas was excellent. He had previously operated on my wife and managed her through some very difficult times (the early stages of the covid outbreak when hospitals were rescheduling at short notice etc). As with her, I found him to be an attentive consultant. Rhys was genuinely interested to hear my thoughts on my condition and he took efforts to make sure he ran the right diagnostics to fully explore potential causes before coming to a diagnosis. He did not leap straight to deciding to operate and prescribing medication. His analysis encompassed a consideration of lifestyle changes/interventions too. I would whole heartedly recommend Mr Thomas to any friends or family that have concerns about gall stones, hernias, ulcers, acid or anything else in that related area.

Mr Thomas was great from the first meeting. Read referral throughly and explained everything. Went through all options and what the next steps would be. He made me feel very at ease and that I was in very good hands. I can’t that him and his team enough.

When given a choice , many personal reasons can come into play hence I chose Dr Thomas because of his profile on dealing with Hernias from a list of 10 Surgeons and because one of my best friends is Welsh. Dr Thomas met my expectations of being professional knowledgable and a nice calm personality, reassuring and a pleasure to have met, to help me with my condition. I thoroughly recommend him as a doctor that does a take a little more time with you, is confident in his knowledge and doesnt make you feel rushed, he's is reassuring when you are nervous of whats to come.

Rhys was my consultant for my surgery and i found him to be very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He was very honest with the information he provided to help me make a decision. Even during my surgery and afterwards he kept me updated with everything i needed to know which really put me at ease. The surgical cuts required were carried out to a very high standard. He always assured me he was always available via BMI to help me with anything i needed further. I am so happy with the treatment i received from Rhys at BMI. He is an asset to the team and the hospital.
