I had my right eye cataract surgery August 2020 by Mr Qasim Mansoor at the Nuffield hospital privately. He made me feel very confident about the procedure and talked me through the different lense types. I went for the Toric IOL as had a slight astigmatism Mr Mansoor provided me with excellent websites to look at before making my descision. I should have had my left eye procedure about 8 weeks later, but because of covid numbers increasing I decided to wait a while. The Nuffield hospitals covid safety procedure was very good but I wished to wait. In mid March 2021 I rang Mr Qasim Mansoor’s secretary to arrange for my left eye procedure . Which went ahead on the 10/05/ 21. Again a Toric IOL lense was used. It is now the 11/06/21 my near, mid and distance vision is excellent. I have no blurring. I have not tried night time driving yet but I expect it to be very good, as bright lights don’t affect me now. I would recommend anyone to have this procedure and the Toric IOL lense And Also Mr Qasim Mansoor as a consultant which ever hospital you decide to use. I have to also say the procedure was painless. A little discomfort but the whole thing is so quick. Ideally without my covid reservations it would have been better for me to have had both procedures closer together, as my depth vision made me loose confidence when walking around or doing everyday tasks. All is excellent now. Thank you Mr Mansoor and team.

Assessed quickly after referral for cataract. Recommended enhance IOL monofocal lens. Surgery took place the following week. Amazing results particularly for long distance and intermediate. I am a twenty-one year old patient who recently had the toric lenses fitted by Mr Mansoor. Before the surgery, I was explained through my different options with extensive knowledge of each option. Mr Mansoor helped me pick the lens that would work best for myself. The surgery was very quick and Mr Mansoor and his team talked me through whilst doing the surgery. I felt completely safe throughout the procedure and I was extremely happy. As soon as the surgery was finished and I opened my eyes, I could tell the surgery was successful as my vision had instantly improved which I was not prepared for. I had no pain after the surgery and I am so happy with the outcome. The team did check in with me after the surgery which was appreciated as they could answer any questions raised. This surgery has been amazing and changed my life as I can now confidently drive once again. I am extremely grateful to Mr Mansoor and his team for helping me with my cataract surgery and for helping me choose the best choice and for my positive experiences. I would definitely recommend Mr Mansoor as well as the toric lens surgery. Thank you again.

In late December 2020 it was confirmed that I had cataracts in both eyes and so I attended for an initial consultation at Newmedica Eye Centre. I had an astigmatism in my right eye so the option of a toric lens implant was explained to me with a mono lens implant needed for my left eye. I had the left eye lens implant in January and all went very well. That was done by Mr Dees as Mr Mansoor was not available at the time but I already knew that Mr Mansoor was one of a limited number of ophthalmologists able to implant a toric lens and that he would be doing my right eye. A short time after my left eye healed I met Mr Mansoor for the first time. He went to great lengths to ensure that I was aware of all of the issues that could happen with a toric lens implant, even suggesting additional questions that I might want to ask before making my final decision! I went ahead with the procedure but the next day realised that the experience was not going to be the same as with the mono lens in my left eye. However, I knew the procedure was more complex than a mono lens so just hoped that my vision would improve. When I returned for my check up I was relieved that Mr Mansoor was not happy with the result. He explained to me very thoroughly that, although it was unusual, the lens had moved and was out of position. He detailed my options one of which was to allow him the opportunity to put it right. I readily agreed to do so and in a few days I was back in theatre again while he manoeuvred the lens into position. He saw me again two days after the procedure and although the positioning of the lens had improved he was still not happy with the outcome. He explained the options to me once more and appeared visibly relieved when I agreed that I was prepared to trust him and undergo another operation to remove the lens and insert a different toric lens from another manufacturer. This final operation was done a week later and I was again back after two days when Mr Mansoor checked and confirmed that this time the lens was correctly placed. I am so pleased that I kept faith with Mr Mansoor and trusted him to get me the right result. I am very happy with my vision now, distance is excellent and 'off the shelf' reading glasses help my near vision as necessary. Throughout this experience I was impressed with Mr Mansoor's warm, friendly manner, his attention to checking my understanding of the various options and his concern to achieve the 'right' result. I am so grateful for his expertise and outstanding professional care.

Had my second cataract removal done today by Mr Mansoor, fantastic results both times, worn glasses and contact lenses since I was 11 years old, my sight it perfect now, only need reading glasses for small print and it’s only the first day. Would highly recommend Mr Mansoor. The care given from start to finish was brilliant.
