Mr Sayal went above and beyond my expectations. I went to him seeking a second opinion as was concerned about NHS delays. I was immediately put at ease by his friendly, open manner. He spent the first ten minutes getting to know about my life and really listened to how I was being affected by my condition. He is an excellent communicator, I feel I understood everything he said without feeling patronized. I especially appreciated the thorough 'tour' of my MRI. Questions Ive had for a long time were finally answered, not glossed over or brushed off. He addressed my concerns and gave me a plan for further steps I can take and I left feeling a great peace of mind and more positive about my future. I had a thoracic decompression in January 2020. Through the pre-op, procedure and post-op care I felt informed, involved and listened to by Mr Sayal and his team. He took great time and care to ensure I understood the risks, prognosis and options available to me, and whilst I was in the hospital he came to see me regularly to check in and discuss my recovery with me. In particular I would commend him for really listening and taking me seriously when I had a very minor post-op bleed . It was causing me new unrecognised symptoms and he listened, investigated and quickly responded to provide corrective surgery that evening, having to assemble a surgical team and stay late himself. I would absolutely trust him to provide any surgical assistance I may need in future and would recommend him to anyone else needing this kind of surgery.
