Chronic sciatica and back pain took my life away from me and Mr Papanikolaou gave my life back to me. He and his team performed a discectomy on me just over two years ago. I've been given a second chance - the recovery period was smooth and I have had few problems since aside from some expected stiffness. I was treated with respect and courtesy as opposed to my previous consultant. It is as though I never had a problem, and I still, two years later, could not be more grateful to Mr Papanikolaou and his team. Thank you.

I had an MRI in November 2017. I saw this consultant in February 2018. I explained that I had started to experience new symptoms on top of the original symptoms that had prompted the MRI. He advised me my symptoms were all to do with my Spinal Stenosis. Although I had doubts he advised me I was fit and an ideal candidate for surgery, I agreed to the surgery out of desperation. After the operation I was still in pain, although at that time reduced pain. I advised him of this the morning after surgery. He ignored my comments and said I was mobile and could go home. Following physio I was advised to see the surgeon again has my pain was increasing. After 11 weeks I had still not received my post op appointment. I had to chase it up. At that appointment I advised him I was still in pain and my mobility was worse than before my op. He did not examine me, he told me he had not replaced my spine or nerves and what did I expect at my age . He was more concerned to tell me how successful he was and that he did over 500 of these operations each year and just shrugged his shoulders.

MR P was brilliant from initial consultation through to surgery. After talking to him his vast knowledge experience and expertise put my mind at ease. I’m recovering now after surgery and trust what MR P has explained and advised what’s best for me. Would highly recommend him to all, thank you so much (sukhvinder singh)

After giving the consultant 2 attempts to do his job,I had to get all my medical records from my local hospital and seek a second opinion to clarify my problem. He did not tell me the full results of my tests whjich showed what was causing my problem.
