Mr Niall Sullivan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Hip and Trauma Surgeon. He completed his specialist Orthopaedic training in the Severn Deanery and was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2017. He went on to complete fellowship training in advanced hip replacement and revision surgery in Auckland, NZ and in Bristol.

Mr Sullivan specialises in complex primary and revision hip surgery. Pathologies treated include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, avascular necrosis, metastatic cancer (hip/pelvis), trauma and developmental hip problems.

Having received awards during his training for his research, Mr Sullivan continues to work with University of Bristol researchers producing high quality stem cell research and studies on prosthetic joint infection. He also remains heavily involved in training and education of surgeons in the region and is the Health Education England Lead for Skills and Course for the Severn Deanery surgical training program.

Mr Sullivan has had hip surgery himself and understands the impact that hip problems can have on your day-to-day life. He understands the stresses of going through surgery and the challenges of rehabilitation. This puts him in a strong position to help you through your treatment journey.
