Went in as an NHS patient for gallbladder removal and ended up in awful pain day surgery (keyhole), had chronic pain so stayed overnight. During the night I had excruciating pain but 5 nurses found it hard to help me. After trying different drugs it calmed but a great pain in my shoulders. I still didn't feel well, didn't see Mr Meyrick Thomas after surgery or that morning, everyone was pushing to release me. All I was told it will get better walking around at home. Spire pushed me out by lunchtime. Rang Spire 2.00am as in excruciating pain and was told to go to A&E. Luckily a surgeon, Registrar and Doctor recognised the signs and immediately got me ready for surgery. So 2 more procedures later, a stent put in my bile duct and drains hanging out of me and still in hospital.
I have twice had a colonoscopy and polyp removal treatment from Dr Meyrick-Thomas and found him excellent. He was careful and caring and explained what was happening clearly. No hesitation in recommending him.
I have been seeing this dr for some years for various issues. He is kind, attentive and an amazing doctor. Very prompt in responding your emails and take care of patients very nicely. I totally trust him to perform endoscopy and specially colonoscopy. As I have had some bad experience with other doctors. I highly recommend him. Feel blessed to know him as a patient
