Jean Deguara was pleasant and very informative; operation procedure, possible implications and recovery time. Listened and gave advice regarding any questions or concerns I had. Also explained laparoscopic photographs. I would highly recommend Jean Deguara and The New Victoria Hospital.

I was seen at the New Victoria Hospital in Kingston for a laparoscopic (keyhole) cholecystectomy. (Removal of the gallbladder) Mr Deguara was excellent. His pre and post operation communication was first class and was always on hand to answer my questions. Having an open line to the surgeon gave me a great deal of comfort especially one as experienced and Mr Deguara. The surgery itself went to plan and I have healed nicely and as described. The staff at the hospital were also excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Deguara.

One word. Amazing! I was in an NHS hospital having been an A&E admission (Gallstones). Within 40 mins of contacting Dr Deguaras secretary, I had spoken with Dr Deguara, appraised him of my sithation and he had a bed and MRCP booked at BMI Coombe Wing for that day. Following speedy tests, I was booked in to have my Gall bladder removed the following week. This was done with no complications. I have since had my post op appointment and have been discharged from Dr Deguara. It is clear that this charismatic Doctor really cares for his patients and has a real way of treating and understanding their needs. He certainly went well out of his way in treating me and I will be forever grateful for the service I have recieved. With my situation, Dr Deguara was under no obligation to help me as I was already under another General Surgeon but pulled out all the stops to treat me. 10/10

I was treated by Jean and his team at the New Victoria Hospital in Kingston. I must say the whole experience was very good. The communication was excellent and whenever I had any questions or queries they were answered either personally by Jean or his team. Jean was clear, confident and concise in the way he explained what the operation entailed and was extremely thorough with his attention to detail. This was key when it came to creating a relaxing and stress free environment before surgery. Throughly recommended.

I was recently admitted to hospital with Jaundice and abdominal pain and following tests and scans turned out to have gallstones. I was under the care of Mr Deguara and his team who looked after me exceptionally well. I was especially lucky to be offered laparoscopic cholecystectomy to remove my gallbladder just a week after confirmation of my diagnosis by mrcp (which is basically an mri). On the day of my surgery I was understandably nervous and really appreciated Mr """"""""""Deguara coming to pre-assessment lounge to check everything was okay. It made me feel safer that he took interest beyond the theatre room. I was seen after my surgery and reassured that it went well without any complications. The team were happy for me to go home on the same day, but also gave me the option to stay the night if I preferred. I chose to stay just to make sure everything was going to be okay. The next day I was seen again by the team who were happy with my recovery and together we decided I would go home. I am recovering well at home, and my scars are already healing very well. Altogether, I am very grateful for the care I have received and Mr Deguara has been amazing. I couldn't recommend him and his team more.
