A wonderful caring human being , he sees his patients for the people they are, not just a cluster of symptoms. He really listens and is an incredibly gifted surgeon. I knew within a few minutes of meeting him I would be in safe hands.. and I was. All the nursing staff think highly of him too and it's clear he is well respected amongst his peers.

A fantastic, very skilled surgeon, and a very sincere caring man. He listens to the patient, he is thorough and precise in what he dose. And most of all he treats his patients like people and not like a hospital number or cattle.

Evert Smith is an amazing surgeon! I am now 35, he has been my surgeon since I was 16 yrs old, in that time he has replaced both of my hips, replaced both of my knees and then revised the replacements of both of my hips again!!!! After 17yrs, yes they needed to be revised but that's 17 yrs of living a full independent young life, travelling, dancing, going to uni etc....genuinely without Evert I wouldn't of had the opportunity to do any of those things! He has given me my life back. With regards to care he has always made himself available to me via his secretary Sue (also one of life's good people) to provide me with any support or X-rays needed. This man is not only so highly regarded within my own family but also in the medical profession! In fact my GP even said to me that Evert is the only hip/knee surgeon he would allow to operate on himself or family!!! Thank you Evert you will never really know what you've done to help me. Also I have seen him occasionally privately for appointments but my normal place of appointments and where I've had my surgery with him is Southmead Hospital.
