I initially saw him for my sciatica. He gave me an MRI, and told me my options. I took an injection under sedation, which helped in the short term. 2 Years later, I revisited him, and everything he had said, had transpired. He suggested a procedure, explained the up and down sides: gave me lots of stuff to read. I had the operation; everything he had told me was exactly how it all went. A very positive outcome. Mr Cumming is an extremely knowledgeable, straight taking, surgeon. Post op, he visited me in my room 3 times. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending him.

I met David Cumming, after what could have been a life changing trauma injury …. after falling from a height onto the back of my neck. After assessing my MRI scan, David explained the severity of the situation and possible neurological complications to me, prior to surgery. He was very clear and professional in his explanation but also personable and reassuring. I always felt I was in safe hands. Mr Cumming I was always approachable, contactable and closely monitored me through out both of my cervical spinal procedures. I can’t thank my Mr Cumming enough for the life changing surgery he performed. I would unreservedly recommend him and feel very fortunate to have been under his care.

The doctor had a hard time finding a diagnosis to my pain. It was not a very sophisticated diagnosis, rather than properly reviewing my MRI scans together with the radiologist and prescribing the right medication. I lost days in pain due to his mishandling of my health condition.

David Cumming is a great man and a great surgeon. Period. He has recently performed a diseconomy on me through his role with NHS Ipswich Hospital and, as a result, has totally transformed my life. In my view, his surgical skill is unquestionable but he is also incredibly relatable. In you are fortunate to come within his care, whether privately or under the NHS, you are in safe and exceptional hands & should consider yourself blessed and lucky. Cannot recommend, or thank, him enough.

After five months of great Sciatica driven pain that failed to respond to medication then physio therapy then epidural injection, I was thankfully referred to Mr David Cumming at his outstanding Schoen Clinic in London. David is clearly an a eminently highly skilled and clearly very well respected surgeon in his field. He immediately builds a fantastic rapport with and instills great confidence in his patients. Hi staff and colleagues obviously think the world of him. He took me through my MRI in layman’s terms, discussed the potential remedial options so we could agree the best way to treat this horrendous affliction. He balances surgical needs with other aspects going on in the patients life. He was exceedingly empathetic around the equally important psychological aspects on me and my family. He makes one feel they are the most important person in the world. His team of anaesthetists, nurses, pre and post op nurses and secretarial support delivered just the highest level of care and attention as well being the friendliest people you could hope to meet. The operation itself was exactly as he outlined to me and two weeks on I am feeling fantastic. I was given oodles of information all along the way and the ongoing analysis is indicative of the very high standards this man operates to. As well as practicising his amazing skills David is working in many areas, is on various boards to pioneer, champion and advance improvements and best practice in all aspects of spinal surgery. I can never thank Mr Cumming enough for the amazing turnaround in my physical and mental health. I could not have been in better hands so I have no suggestions as to how he could possibly improve on what he is already doing.I would/will highly recommend him.
