Everyday I am thankful to Ann Lyons for the surgery she carried out on me, it was major surgery due to advanced bowel cancer. She had a wonderful bedside manner, very professional, approachable, explained everything in detail, she made me feel sage and confident in her hands, and I was, after 8 hours she had removed my cancer, and even came to see me on the ward afterwards late thst night. Her caring attitude was so reassuring. I will never forget this lady for aslong as I live, she gave me my life back, and she genuinely cared about my wellbeing, I honestly felt like she treated me although I was someone precious in her life. To be so skillful is one thing, but to have such a wonderful caring approach aswell is such a blessing.

I was seen by Ann Lyons and could not have been more grateful for her clear concise and compassionate care. It was brief, as on a morning ward round following an emergency admission. I had felt confused and vulnerable having been seen by 3 different consultant until that point. Her style was to the point but delivered in a way that I knew I had an experienced expert in my camp. It was very reassuring and I was able to understand what I should not and could not do going forward.

Miss Lyons is a fantastic listener who gets to know her patients well and who really cares. She is genuinely one of the nicest surgeon I’ve encountered and a fantastic general surgeon
