Miss Birdie was very warm and understanding so that I was immediately at ease at my first consultation with her. She was extremely easy to talk to and I valued that very much. She proposed a course of Uromune vaccine and gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision. I trusted her implicitly, not only because I respected her judgement, but because she had gained a clear understanding of my personal medical history. I also knew that she would be readily available should I have any misgivings or problems. I am delighted that I have been clear if infections for 8.5 months! I feel so much better and have more energy and can now make plans with confidence that I wan’t have to cancel because I will be impeded and unwell with an infection. I actually cannot think of any way that improvements could be made by her, I would not hesitate to ask for her help again. to

I first saw Miss Birnie over a year ago, after chronic repeat UTI's. I had become resistant to antibiotics and was feeling in despair, not a life threatening condition, but quality of life was not good. Miss Birnie has a gentle caring character, great listening skills and shows great compassion. After trying one drug, I ventured, under her guidance into trying a 'new' vaccine. She led me calmly and with confidence over the next few months of being on the vaccine, and fingers crossed have been UTI free all year! I have complete faith in the medical profession due to her compassionn and skills as a Consultant Urologist. Thankyou!

I am a male in my 60s. Due to a urological problem I have had to be catheterised for treatment about 15 times in the last 18 months, by a variety of doctors including twice by Miss Birnie. While no one in their right mind enjoys the experience, Miss Birnie's technique is excellent and if you need to be catheterised by her you can be sure that you are, both literally and metaphorically, in the best hands possible and will suffer the minimum discomfort. She is also very easy to talk to and she listens and puts you at ease.

I will always be grateful for the exemplary treatment, care and understanding received from Miss Birnie. Most importantly, this resulted in a very positive outcome. I have therefore developed total trust in both her profession skills and personal compassion as a consultant.
