I would like to say a few words about Dr Picthall and to say that just before she came to my surgery, I had made the decision to leave the practice and go to another one that had been recommended to me. I have been a patient for over 15 years at this surgery and have always been happy with the the care I have received, which for me being a cancer survivor is very important to me, but over the last few years the practice has been terrible. A different doctor nearly every time I went, some were temporary, some said they were permanent but they didn’t last and I never saw them again. I am 70 years old and have I suppose the usual health problems associated with my age and as I live alone I need to be sure I am receiving the best care possible and that was definitely not happening here. Then Dr Picthall arrived and she is wonderful, I can’t speak more highly of her, she is excellent, she listens to you, she explains what action she is going to take and why, she is efficient, kind, caring, punctual and the surgery it’s self has gone from a 4.5 on a good day to a 10. I am very happy to say that I am now staying with the practice and most importantly Dr Picthall.

I visited Dr Picthall back in November last year with a trapped nerve in my neck. I cannot fault the care i received from her. Although she correctly diagnosed me straight away and treated me with the appropriate pain relief, she still pushed for a specialist consultant to see me, a scan and physio. I visited on a regular basis where my medication was reviewed and Dr Picthall assessed my progress. On the occassion when i couldnt get in to surgery she spoke to me on the phone and arranged medication that way. Last month i returned to work and i am confident knowing my doctor is there should i have any problems. Hope Dr Picthall stays at the Pike Practice she is brilliant.

Great care is always paramount with Dr Picthall. I have always found her to be a great listener and excellent GP. She is considerate and very thorough when consulting. Dr Picthall's clinical skills are 2nd to none. She is efficient, hard working and always ready to go that extra mile for both patients and staff members. She attends regular clinical updates often working above expectations Dr Picthall is a good support always there with helpful suggestions The team at The Pike are very lucky to have such a caring member of staff and excellent Lead GP.
