Assured by the Cardinal Clinic Windsor that she was the appropriate specialist for adult gambling addiction coupled with depression. Two consultations then a suggestion to go elsewhere!

I had an extremely poor experience with this consultant. After two appointments, one of 1 hour then a 30 minute meeting at a cost of almost £600. I was given absolutely no indication of care plan or any idea what will happen next. Following the second appointment I made phone calls to the Cardinal Clinic Windsor to enquire about my care, I was confronted with the same lack of clinical care and to find reasons I should continue with this "treatment ". I was confronted with a brick wall of non-communication giving me the distinct impression that the clinic was operating as a money making scheme. Furthermore, something that should have raised my concerns about the clinic is that at the time there was no complaints procedure on their website; they were not affiliated to a health service ombudsman such as the Independent Sector Complaints Adjudication Service (ISCAS); and their website referred patients with complaints to the Care Quality Commission (CQC). In the latter case, the CQC do not deal with individual complaints but rather oversee the correct running of healthcare facilities such as hospitals and private healthcare clinics. I would advise plenty of research before spending your money either directly or through health insurance before deciding on where to go for treatment. Do not accept a referral even from your GP until you have done background research yourself.
