This doctor really helped me understand my condition more. He was very polite, understanding and considerate.

A relative of mine has been under Dr Khurmi's care for a number of months now via a number of phone calls made to the regional crisis team. Dr Khurmi has been at the centre of the care organising a complicated and substantial package of care taking care of the individual's and immediate families needs. Until we met Dr Khurmi, a number of other staff has been contacted to help but there had not been much progress and the family outlook of recovery seemed distant. Dr Khurmi has been very patient and tentative with his approach which was refreshing to see. It felt like the doctor gave time to listen to queries, concerns and worries and took time to address this which helped alleviate family concerns. The overall progress has been very positive thanks to delicate changes in dosing regime and therapeutic changes to medication. A couple of months ago, things seemed in a very bad way and that there would not be happy times again. Now, a few months on, we seem to be returning to a new normal whereby everyday functioning is getting back to a somewhat optimal level. Dr Khurmi explained about the pros and cons to every decision regarding my relative who has been in his care. This has helped to explain the decision basis and rationale for specific choices and direction. We are grateful to him and his team. Without Dr Khurmi, and his teams help and coordination, we are blessed to see the relative almost back to their best. Moving forwards, Dr Khurmi explained about another colleague taking over the care. Naturally, we were apprehensive about this but Dr Khurmi has spent time to build trust over the last few months and we trust his judgment and are looking forward to continuing a journey of rehabilitation under the new doctors care. Thanks to everyone in the crisis team, and regional support team.

My 25 year old son found himself in a very dark place recently and was put in the care of Dr Khurmi. I have to say the calm mannerism and experience of Dr Khumri was brilliant. He has helped my son gain trust and talk to him about his issues. I am seeing the benefits of work he is doing with my son, even taking the time to sit with the family and explain things we did not understand and guide us into how we can also help our son recover. I think recovery for patients is achievable if you end up with the right person professional to help you. We are glad we got Dr Khurmi.

A personal thank you to Dr Khurmi. Not only did he 'listen', he 'heard'. I hit a very very dark place and was getting to a point of not wanting to be around any more. Dr Khurmi was supportive, patient and very understanding. I believe that without my GP, Dr Khurmi and the team's immediate intervention when I was pleading for help, I might not have been here anymore. The aftercare is just as good and with new medication, and knowing that help is now just a call away, to a designated team, I feel that each day is getting a bit lighter.

Dr Khurmi has been very kind and caring and not patronising ,Dr Khurmi has been the first doctor who actually listen to my problem and put me on right medications which helps my anxiety and make me feel normal again. I am so grateful for his time as i have felt so unsupported when trying to get support from other mental health professionals but talking with him made me feel as though there was a light at the end of the tunnel. thank you very much.
