I don’t know whether Dr Vaid is a good doctor - I am not a medical professional. However, as a human being, I was treated poorly. My mother has been in hospital for 35 days and I go almost every morning and wait for upto 4 hours to get 5 minutes of a consultant’s time. My mother has been in 4 different wards and I have spoken to 8 different consultants. All are polite and (hopefully) see me as helpful - I do try and look after my mum and I believe the nurses appreciate my presence. I understand the challenges the NHS faces and so I do the hours to get the minutes. This morning Dr Vaid said she would see me after the ward round (I had been waiting an hour already) and told me to wait outside. She told the nurses to keep me out (first time in 35 days). 2.5 hours later, she sent a registrar to explain the situation to me and no courtesy of an apology (she saw me waiting many times). Her attitude and language was dismissive from the start so no surprise I guess.

Refused to speak to us. Incredibly rude. Never explained what was happening. Lied to us - said she had authorised a transfer to another hospital that we had lined up but had actually told the hospital that my mother in law could not be moved. Kept us waiting three hours to speak to her and then refused to tell us anything as she said she had to go home - this happened three times. Wondering what she is trying to hide?
