Hello, I just wanted to feedback to your practice about the wonderful service I received last Friday from Dr Davis. I am profoundly deaf, and so my appointment was conducted face to face, but with a BSL interpreter on a screen. I found the Doctor to be very kind, caring and empathetic. He was very respectful of my need for him to remove his face mask, to allow me to see his face expressions and lip patterns. We had some technical issues with the Wifi, and the interpreter kept freezing, making it a little difficult to follow, but the Dr had all the time in the world, kept calm, and didn’t rush things, and this allowed us to go over everything a few times so that I didn’t miss any vital information. I felt in very safe hands, and would highly recommend this Dr to anyone, especially other members of the Deaf community. Please pass on my thanks to him. Kind regards, Darren Pritchard.

One of Dr Matthew's biggest assets is his ability to listen to the patient, along with his calming personality sets a very good place for a patient to talk about their problem. If I had one negative to say it is not about Dr Matthew, but rather the way Doctors surgeries are run now. Unless you are going to them so regular they know you well and all your history off hand. But if your not so regular but have a long medical record, from hospitals and past Doctors, they simply have no idea of your history and it is down to the patient to go through it all, which can be tiresome to do every time you see a Doctor. Obviously, they do not have time to go through all your notes there's not enough time for them to do this. I think an update is well overdue on the Doctors computer system, I think when they bring up a patients name on their system, the first page should contain the patients most important health history along with the last two visits they had. This way at a glance and even before seeing the patient they can see what health issue's this person has or has had in the past. Then based on this information can see if the patient's visit is related to any of these, cutting down the time on diagnoses, and importantly knowing who their patient is. Gone are the days when you had the same Doctor for years and they really new you as a person and your history. I say this from experience, as there have been many times when I would have to explain to a Doctor what surgery I had had in the past or health conditions I believe to be connected to the way I'm feeling. We are now more and more dependant on technology but it seems the UK is very much behind on how much more this can be used to help Doctors and patients.

All my appointments with Dr Davies have been very positive experiences, he comes out of his consulting room to meet you as opposed to being called by 'tannoy'. His listening skills are excellent and his overall professionalism is top grade.
