Mr English performed surgery on me in 2015 for stage 4 endometriosis. I lost a kidney and had a bowel resection because of the disease and that was as a result of several NHS doctors dismissing my pain. Thank fully I was referred to Jim by a fertility consultant and Jim literally saved my life. I spent 20 years in agony and my bowel was almost blocked. One kidney had completely died. I struggle to find the words to say how I feel about Jim because of what he did for me. I was 10 hours in surgery and I remember when I woke up it was Jim I was calling for instead of my husband. Jim is my hero and he has changed my life.

I can't commend Dr English enough. He's not only very friendly and approachable, but he actually listened to everything I had to say (this is very rare in comparison to all the other gynaecologists I've seen). He is incredibly knowledgeable and after seeing him for the first consultation, I felt I could trust him and felt at ease within moments of meeting him. His outstanding reputation as an expert in endometriosis is for good reason - it's because he's so fantastic. I had a laparoscopy by another gynaecologist at a different hospital who couldn't find any endometriosis. Dr English insisted he would find it due to my symptoms, and that it had been found before. Just a few months after my laparoscopy where no endometriosis was found, Dr English performed the same operation and found endometriosis. He is the first doctor I have seen who has made me feel like my pain is real, and that he's determined to get to the bottom of it so I can lead a pain free life. I know many women who suffer from endometriosis who feel exactly the same as me. He is a life saver!

I first showed sign of endometriosis at age 28 not realising what I had. By time I was 35 I was in a lot of pain, we were trying unsuccessfully to get pregnant too. I was put into Mr English and his team's care, after a laparoscopy having being told had severe endometriosis, i had surgery by Mr English twice as I had it everywhere even on my bowel. I was extremely worried but under Mr English's care i went on to have all the surgery i needed successfully. That was 11 years ago. I now have an year old daughter and all is well I would highly recommend his work to anyone who finds themselves needed simular treatment.

I was under his care 2004-5 and underwent 3 procedures performed by him. I felt totally safe and secure in his care and I wasn’t wrong! I recently had to acces some details from 2005 - the details were provided with 1 hr of my telephoning and leaving a message with his secretary. Clearly his excellent care and that of his secretary continuities - I would travel to see him despite living in a different area now should the need arise

I have recently had surgery performed by Dr English and a follow up consultation. Before surgery he came and met me and was so reassuring and kind. He put me at ease. When arriving to the follow up consulation the NHS nurses informed me that all my notes had been lost. Dr English was very apologetic on thier behalf. He still saw my husband and I and used the notes that I had bought with me. He said he would post me a full copy of my notes once they were found. He is gentle, he gives you confidence and he is charming which relaxes you and makes you feel like he cares. He never makes you feel rushed through. He also is very informative, listens and advices.
