Mr Tanos perfomed an immediate free DIEP flap reconstruction in May 2022 after a left subcutaneous mastectomy. My interactions with Mr Tanos from the initial consultation to my discharge in August 2023 (after a nipple reconstruction and right breast fat grafting) were superb : he offered very clear advice, outlining all the possible risks and benefits of this major surgery. He worked well with the Breast Cancer team, but most of all his clinical skills in producing such excellent outcomes for me were absolutely outstanding. I feel very lucky to have been under his care at such a difficult time and would highly recommend him.

I was treated by Mr Grigorios Tanos for squamous cell carcinoma 2020-2023. I did not feel I could be in better hands. He is a very caring surgeon. I shall always be grateful to him for his outstanding professionalism and kindness.

I wanted to give praise and thanks to Mr Tanos for the amazing reconstruction work he did following on from my breast cancer mastectomy. He truly is an asset to the nhs. He has a kind heart and really cares about his patients. He takes the time to listen , and has such a calming aura that makes you feel at ease. I am so grateful for the amazing surgery. It has truly been life changing. The results are amazing. I can at last look in the mirror and smile. I feel blessed to have been a patient of his. Mr. Tanos has recently carried out my Diep breast reconstruction following my mastectomy 2 years ago. The surgery was a success and I now feel I have my femininity back which is quite overwhelming for me. My body went through severe life threatening side effects with chemotherapy that eventually after 4 out of 6 cycles my oncologist recommended that we stop and move onto the next part of my treatment which was radiotherapy and then medication. I remember once all curative treatment was finally completed I made a promise to myself that my body had been through enough I would never put it under any unnecessary operations and stay well clear of any more hospital admissions A breast reconstruction was the last thing I wanted especially such a major operation as the diep procedure. However as time went on and I began to live my life post cancer, living with only one breast was having a mental impact on me as well as my marriage although my husband was just happy I made it through treatment. It was going to take a very special Plastic Surgeon to convince me to have a breast reconstruction fortunately for me I was referred to Mr. Tanos and I knew by the end of our initial consultation I was ready to go ahead with the surgery. It was quite evident to me he is very passionate about his field of work and very empathetic with his patients. He explained numerous options of reconstructions very clearly and throughly and ultimately it was my decision to opt for the gold Diep reconstruction despite being major surgery. Don’t get me wrong I had mixed emotions even right up to the day of surgery, but I trusted Mr. Tanos would do an amazing job and sure enough he has given me back my life, confidence and my feminity again. I maybe less mobile at the moment however in time this will pass, I have absolutely no regrets and maybe now I can finally move on from my breast cancer as I no longer have the constant reminder when looking in the mirror. I knew it was going to take a special Plastic Surgeon who I could trust and have confidence in, Mr Tanos is that Special Plastic Surgeon whom I will forever be grateful to. Lesson learnt for me is to never say never! Thank you so much.
