Have visited my GP with my children on several occasions and found him to be attentive and sensitive to their problems, I am very happy the care received for myself and my children.
Dr Walton is not your average GP!! When you grab his attention he is helpful with referrals & follow-up. Despite the "dreaded telephone triage" he will do his best to see you asap when needed.
I found that whilst the doctor was attentive in listening to the explanation of the symptoms I was experiencing and general background of my condition he did not offer a supportive or empathetic attitude, which didn't engender any sense of trust in the patient-doctor relationship.
I had to re-explain my answers several times to illustrate that the lifestyle choices I had made were congruent with the advice given by medical health professionals in the past. Unfortunately, he made assumptions and gave the impression through his body language and tone of voice that his opinion was correct and was not willing to be open to consider other interpretations.
Sadly, being in the role of doctor, we, as the public, make the assumption that he must be in full knowledge and of all contemporary facts on every condition a patient presents to him, which, we know, is simply impossible. However, it would be advisible that he be made aware that he should learn (read this as: undertake training) to develop humitly and a more empathetic attitude, or do the impossible and keep himself permanently abreast of all contemporary facts on all human conditions.
Dr Walton makes me feel relaxed and listens to me throughout.
Dr Walton such a friendly professional. Always on the phone when I see him, trying to care for as many patients as possible. An example of somebody who loves what they do!
