Sarah Martin, BSc (hons), M.Sports Phty, MCSP.
Sarah Martin completed Physiotherapy degree from The University of Birmingham between 1994 and 1997. She undertook 5 years in the NHS gaining valuable experience in all the major areas and eventually specialising in musculoskeletal outpatients at Hammersmith Hospital, London.
Following this experience, Sarah took 17 months to travel overseas, and at this time attended the University of Melbourne in Australia where she completed a Masters degree in Sports Physiotherapy. This included clinical experience with athletes participating in National Australian rules teams, Olympic cyclists, Olympic gymnasts, and Olympic Martial arts participants. She also worked with basketball and netball to name but a few.
Since returning to the UK in 2004, Sarah has been working at the Wimbledon Physiotherapy Clinic. She has also worked part time for the British Diving Teams, and for Esher Rugby Football Club.
Along side working full time, Sarah has always been involved in working with sports teams including: U16/18 Welsh hockey , Surrey Mens hockey, National league hockey (Swansea), Wimbledon Rugby Football Club.
Sarah has a strong hands on approach to treatment specialising in Sports Physiotherapy, but also treating clients in all age groups from children through to the more mature population, with every day aches and pains.
Treatments may include joint mobilisation / manipulation, soft tissue massage, muscle strengthening, exercise, acupuncture or electrotherapy. Advice for return to sport may be given, as may an appropriate home exercise regime to prevent re occurrence.
