Alexa Dawson

Alexa qualified from Southampton University gaining an BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 1996. She currently works as an Extended Scope Practitioner in the NHS in Orthopaedics and has over 14 years experience working with musculoskeletal problems. Her area of special interest is knees. Her previous experience includes working as a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University assisting in the development and delivery of the Physiotherapy programme. Alexa worked in Australia where she gained a postgraduate Certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy at Curtin University. More recently she has worked as an Orthopaedic Clinical Team leader at The Alexandra Hospital working alongside Phil Turner and David Johnson in the Sports Injuries Clinic. Here she was also responsible for the development and implementation of clinical guidelines for the specialist treatment of lower limb injuries and post surgical patients. In 2006 Alexa gained an MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy and Manual Therapy at Manchester Metropolitan University and recent qualifications include completion of the Extended Proficiencies postgraduate course at Salford University and completion of the Orthopaedic Injection Therapy course gained at Keele University.
