Miss Alison Maugham

Alison looked after me for twelve weeks after my operation on 1st May. She was unfailingly helpful, kind and caring, concerned not only about my physical recovery but also my overall welfare. Her interest extended to my husband's health and wellbeing too. Alison was always ready to listen and to offer reassurance when needed. Alison is an excellent nurse and I greatly appreciate her care of me.

Alison is a superb advert for the best qualities of the NHS. She is knowledgable, empathetic and professional. She assures via clear explanation and inspires confidence that she knows her job inside out (which she does). The whole team are great, but Alison was outstanding and made my experience as stress free and enjoyable as possible, for which I remain hugely grateful. She also has a great sense of humour which is so valuable a quality to have.

Alison is a great nurse, very caring, and compassionate. Which she demonstrated, during my stay in the hospital, she is very patient, understanding, and a very brilliant listener, she explained everything to us regarding the procedure, which really helped us to overcome the fear and anxiety, and give us confidence in the recovery process. It has been an absolute pleasure being Alison’s patient over the last 8 weeks following my HPB surgery. Alison is calm, professional, a fantastic listener, who is proactive and always caring. Alison has such a positive attitude, her knowledge and expertise skills made my hospital experience the best! Alison has a fantastic bed side manner, a caring attitude, she is a fantastic communicator and listener. Alison also has the best can do attitude and positivity which is fantastic. During difficult times throughout my recovery, Alison listened to all the questions I had, she answered them so clearly and escalated any queries I had to the appropriate person. Alison is proactive, kind, professional and a fantastic person! The care I have received from Alison has been beyond all expectations. Alison is a credit to Manchester Royal Infirmary and the HBP team. I truly feel any patient under the care of Alison is a lucky patient! You feel looked after and in safe hands! Alison immediately put me at ease, and I felt I could call upon her for any worries or concerns I might have. She was always professional and caring and kept on top of all the tests and procedures I was undergoing. I first met Alison when I come to clinic to meet Mr Satyadas before my surgery at Manchester Royal. She was extremely welcoming and friendly throughout the meeting and provided me with her phone number In case I had any questions or queries about the upcoming surgery. She always replied and put my mind at ease & come to see me on the ward post op, always professional and down to earth. She is an outstanding member of Mr Satyadas team & deserves all the recognition she gets. Debra Leigh
