Always went the extra mile to reassure me whenever I approached her for information, help and advice for the many questions I had for her. A truly professional nurse with a fantastic bed side manner. I felt very safe under her care.

Aileen was a wonderfully calm and reassuring nurse who listened and answered questions asked of her, always replying in language one could understand. She never rushed me and gave me the confidence to face the needed surgery. When in hospital for said surgery Aileen took any opportunity to visit one on the ward and again created the time to talk and reassure one about how well the operation had gone. before admission and after discharge she took the time to phone me to see how things were going, again calmly answering and questions and offering reassurance when needed. Post op in a review meeting she explained in a no nonsense truthful manner what the surgery had found, what the outcome was and the future treatment. It was pleasant to find a Health Professional who showed such compassion and understanding as well as a human side and sense of humour.

During the few weeks I have been under treatment at Manchester Royal Infirmary leading up to, and following, liver surgery, Aileen has been a tremendous support to me, quick to respond to queries, making appointments, and offering explanations. Always with a smile. I hope in the future I am lucky enough to find someone as good when I move to another hospital for further treatment.

Aileen Aherne is a first-class nurse who shows care and compassion to all her patients. I found her to be very understanding and ready to explain and advise on any kind of worry presented to her. Always available either in person, or if not free, then always at the end of a phone call. A very caring and warm hearted nurse who never hesitated to give good advice and full lexplanations to take away a concern. This lady stands very high inh our estimation and I would say she is the very best kind of person in that job to offer comfort and support to all her patients.

Aileen is a wonderful nurse who always makes her patients feel important. She is always at the end of the phone if she is not available in person and goes out of her way to do all that she can for others. Aileen definitely has gone above and beyond her duty of care.
