After waking up from surgery to an unexpected situation of a stoma I was confused and upset as to what to do, however when I was introduced to the Stoma team from Whiston Hospital NHS my fears and worries were alleviated.
My Stoma Nurse Jo Rooney who is a credit to her team helped me through everything by being supportive and professional offering me help and advice with all aspects from caring for my stoma to diet and exercises.
She was always on the other end of the phone if I needed her when I was worried and quickly put me at ease. The home visits I had from Jo were reassuring to me to know that I could ask anything as she was caring and had a vast knowledge of Stoma care.
Thank you Jo so much for everything you have done for me I cannot tell you how much you have helped me through this difficult time with your compassion and professionalism.
Jo has been such a great help and support since leaving hospital. She listens and genuinely cares not just for my stoma but for my emotional well being too. Nothing has been too much trouble and is always at the end of the phone. Thanks so much for continuing to help me adjust to my new norm for now- couldn’t ask for better care ☺️
I recently had a stoma fitted and the help I have received from Jo has been second to none. Nothing has been too much trouble, she obviously cares a great deal about the patients that she visits and explains everything clearly.
Thank you Jo
Thank you for leaving such a lovely review.
I found Jo to be very helpful and informative in providing answers to the many questions and fears I had about my stoma. She is patient and helped me find the right solution for my stoma needs. Jo is only ever a phone call or text away if I have any issues and I have regular check up visits. Her support is much appreciated.
I reported problems with my stoma and within 48 hours Jo had beento visit and deal with the problem. She had various pieces of equipment with her to help and the improvement was immediate. She has since made a follow-up visit armed with supplies to keep me on top of the situation.
