A fantastic postnatal experience! The midwife visited me at the weekend like it was a regular working day. And she would have even come back again on the Sunday to make sure I was OK if I wanted her to. She couldn't do enough to help. Then after the weekend, the midwife I had seen antenatally came - to have this continuity was brilliant and so important as we had built up a relationship and during this difficult postnatal period, it was great to have her support. I really valued this continuity of care. Both these two midwives were incredibly skilled - highly empathic, knowledgeable and supportive - thank you!!
Lovely reception staff, with clear instructions. Appointment was on time. Very nice doctor, HCA and medical photographer who were all pilote, approachable, friendly at put me at ease.Very reassured. Many thanks
I spent two periods in Watford General Hospital in 2015, as I had Atrial Fibrillation. Much discussion revolved around my treatment and attempts were made to treat it with cardioversion and drugs, both unsuccessful. I felt that the decisions that were being considered and eventually made about my treatment did not involve me sufficiently and that the information about my care was not conveyed to me appropriately. It was not until Dr Koa Wing came on the scene and he arranged for an Ablation at Hammersmith Hospital that the problem was solved. I felt that this decision could have been made earlier which would have saved time, effort, expense and a bed space (on two occasions). There was also several times when the administration seemed to indicate that the left hand did not know what the right hand was doing.
I had an area of sun damage surgically removed from my lip. The surgeon carelessly administered the anaesthetic and a lot of it collected in my throat. He did not allow me to spit it out. I spent the whole time while he carried out the procedure totally rigid and shaking as it was so painful as half the anaesthetic had gone down my throat instead of where it should have gone to numb the area. These NHS practitioners are a law unto themselves and its about time websites like these be set up for patients to have their say. So often we are too frightened to complain because we require follow up appointments and care
The night staff were on several occasions noisy. On one particular night the bedside lamp of the bed opposite to me was left directly shining into my eyes for over half an hour at 2.45 am to have pulled the curtains round the bed would easily have prevented this.
Three and half hours in a corridor! A 95 year old !
With a 95 year old stuck in a corridor within a queue of nine others waiting initial assessment, I find it totally unacceptable. We have been here two hours already. What hope!
Waiting time are a joke, came to hospital with adominal pain being 16 weeks pregnant, given a pain killer and left in waiting room for over 3 hours not knowing what was happening with me.
We waited 6 hours for gynae team. We weren't told any updates unless we pressed for it. We ended up giving up due to no update and severe pain. The whole experience was a joke.
Thank you for your excellent care.
