Was treated with the utmost understanding and compassion. Time was taken to explain the procedure and to allay fear. Professional all the way, especially Sister Linda who is an angel on earth !

Review of Ward A7 written by a patient
23rd May 2017

The Drs and staff were very kind and considerate under enormous pressure to carry out duties. I take my hat off to them. The sheer volume of patients makes the waiting times a bit long but this is because the NHS is short staffed.

Review of Ophthalmic Day Surgery Warrington written by a patient
19th May 2017

The care of the medical team was excellent. I was in for an day case under general anaesthetic.. i would have been more helpful if the person on admission at 7am had told my husband it would be late afternoon before discharge. She just announced to all present out by midday, which applied to patients having local anaesthetics etc. My husband arrived back at the hospital at 11 to collect me and then had to wait till 1700 hrs.. If other departments do this no wonder parking a nightmare.. Surgery was good... today Friday 19/5 I received my outpatients appointment in afternoon post.. i called the hospital to advise that Monday 22/5 was the only day my husband could not take me... The lady on the line said well you will have to wait till 24th July if you don't make it... I queried and said the hospital said I must attend it 2 to 3 weeks. She then turned into the most ignorant offensive jobs worth I have ever spoken to and said well I have no authority to change clinic appointments speak to the consultants secretary and left me hanging on a line which was not answered. Totally disgusting support services for physicians who certainly deserve most.. typical of most NHS services today...the doctors and nursing staff excellent..pity they are supported by jobs worth idiots..

Review of Ward A9 written by a family member
15th May 2017

Nursing staff ere great with my disabled son, they made the hospital experience less traumatic. The A & E on arrival too were amazing .including the ambulance staff. The only negative thing we encountered as the cancellation of the operation for two days which in an asd persons life is like a week especially when hes had lines and a gown put on,Communication earlier should have been as he had to be dosed heavily to cope. I contacted PALS for help but heard nothing as the whole family was struggling. As for ward A9 the staff were exceptional and showed care and support the whole time we were there.

Review of Ward C23 written by a patient
12th May 2017

The staff who looked after me from my admission for an emergency c section, those on ward C23 who provided aftercare and the neonatal care unit looking after my baby were all fantastic. I felt that all of my questions were answered, concerns addressed and my husband was also very happy with our treatment, I cannot make any suggestions for improvement

Review of Ward C20 written by a patient
12th May 2017

The staff were amazing. But they were rushed off their feet - ridiculously so. One day all our meds including painkillers were so late given out that we effectively missed one dose. Skeleton staff because of the Bank Holiday plus all beds full meant it was virtually impossible for the staff to keep up with everything. Additionally in the middle of all this an elderly patient who appeared to have dementia was admitted to our part of the ward during the evening. Two nurses on duty. This lady required constant supervision and created so much noise that no one on our section of the ward slept at all until the nurses moved her bed into the corridor by their desk in desperation at around 5am. I was recovering from a lengthy surgery and all this just made me feel unable to cope. Not one patient blamed the poor nurses who were run ragged the entire night. But the ward was ridiculously understaffed and I shudder to think what would have happened if there had been a critical emergency with one of the patients.

Review of Respiratory Medicine written by a patient
9th May 2017

Parking was ridiculous. It took me 20 minutes to find a space. There seems to be more staff parking than patient/visitor parking and there were a number of us constantly circling the car park to find a space- stressful when you are trying to get to an appointment. The nurse at the start was wonderful but I had to wait over 45 minutes for my appointment, only to be told that there was no point in being there as, a month after my sleep study, the tests had not even been analysed, so I could not be given any results. I had to take a full day off work for this and I am absolutely infuriated. The Doctor then told me that he didn't even know why I had been given the appointment a month after the actual study as these things take 3 months to analyse. This is not my fault or issue - this is a hospital and appointments issue. I am infuriated that my time was wasted so unnecessarily. Why was something as routine as checking the results were actually in my file not done before the appointment? Up until this point, my feedback was going to be glowing, but I am so disappointed and angry that my time (I work as an assistant headteacher) was seen as unimportant, or at least, I felt that way. Not impressed AT ALL.

Review of Accident & Emergency Department written by a patient
9th May 2017

I was asked too many personal questions at reception by a young man who spoke very loudly. I was alone, and I felt quite unwell and he was asking what I was allergic to. I didn't know. This was within earshot of other patients, and made me feel embarrassed. Had I have known what my allergy was, I wouldn't have answered. The carer who took my blood seemed to think she knew what I was allergic to and went on about cleaning my bedroom and damp dusting. They were pleasant enough but I really feel that some staff think the public are idiots and don't know anything. It would be nice to be treated with some respect.

Review of Endoscopy Unit Warrington written by a patient
9th May 2017

Having been to another hospital for same procedure, experience couldn't have been more different. The staff were extremely nice and very professional. Was at unit a lot less time, despite sedation. Got results before I left, so mind put at ease. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend unit.

I thought the clinical staff (particularly Cindy (yesterday) and also the nurse I saw today) were particularly kind and patient with me.
